We visit the resort regularly and this is one place where you are made to feel very, very welcome. 'The Pub' is opposite the Mare Verde apartments just along from Playa Olid apartments. It is run by British guys. You'll enjoy yourself if you're up for a laugh. Try it.

Only problem we found would be the hill, but we were advised of it before we went so we were prepared and simply used the reps at the hotel for excursions, when we were picked up outside the hotel.

There are a lot of bars around the Costa Adeje area, but some are quite expensive. We managed to find the cheapest ones. These were the 'Walihaii' (opposite the Iberostar) - 1.50 euros for a pint of local beer and two euros for local spirit and mixer. It is quiet in the day, but jam packed in the evening. Another nice bar was 'Taffy's Corner' (Puerto Colon) - home made food, one euro a pint and looking over the sea.

Every time we visit Tenerife we make a point of returning back to the 'Gran Reserva'. The staff (waiters) make us feel very welcome, especially the maitre'd Eduardo.

This is just a lovely place. The food is great and great value. The lady who works there is brilliant. She is a good laugh and is always asking if she can help and if everything is OK. Had a great night and would definitely go back there.

At the Puerto Colon end of the beach, the fish and chip restaurant is sited somewhat tucked away. Please suss it out, the fish and chips are something else. They have at least 200 different dishes on their menu and with the very nice English staff, it is a delight to eat there.

Found the 'Mexicano' as a guy was handing out vouchers near the steps where you walk down to the restaurant. Had free margaritas and great food every time. It became a favourite as across the courtyard was the British bar with the owners who sang (husband was Elvis and was great!). Would recommend for a great light hearted fun night for food and entertainment, as the restaurant/pub seemed to work in partnership.

All the above serve great food at very good price. Going to Tenerife for four years and wouldn't miss going for a meal to any of these restaurants.

Review title: "Thank You For The Breakfast Milkshakes"
Travel date: November 2011
Have just stayed at Sunset Bay and every morning went for breakfast at 'Micky O'Malleys'. Apart from the excellent food and the fact that we had to pass restaurants to get to 'Mickys', which was always full whilst others were empty. In a time when the UK is in a recession, a lot of places could learn from 'Micky's' customer service skills.

Front of house Marina could not be more helpful with a smile and a 'nothing is too much troublee' attitude that would put a lot of UK restaurants to shame.

They serve excellent breakfasts and snacks throughout the day and night as well as one of the best Sunday dinners on the island in my opinion. My wife ordered every morning a strawberry milkshake with her breakfast and we were told by Marina that if there were any of the items on the set breakfast menu we didn't like to let her know what we wanted to swap it for ( up to about two items) and it was no problem. The other bars nearby would not do this. At 'Mickys' the customer is king and they get the business accordingly.

On top of this there is a buzz about the bar in the evening that makes you want to go back. Well done 'Micky O'Malleys' We will see you again next year.

PS. Told you I would post a review, Marina!

Been to Tenerife many times and always go to the 'Irish Rover'. Staff make you feel welcome and are friendly. Great tribute acts not to be missed. Shaun, Gordon and John do great jobs. Over again later in year and will be there until the early hours.

When in the Torviscas area, you really must visit the 'Irish Rover'. Big names such as Rod Stewart, Amy Winehouse, Neil Diamond and Elvis to name a few are not the only reasons to visit. The bar staff and compère make this place a great night out and with quizzes and major prized bingo, you'll be back every night of your holiday.

Ended up in the 'Rover' on the first night and went back every night, more for the people than the décor. Shaun, the MC in the bar is a fab singer and a really nice guy. Kayleigh and Sara and all the bar staff are fab and Benny, who owns it is a gentleman. So all in all a brilliant pub.

On a recent visit to Tenerife we stayed in the Torviscas area and drank regularly in the 'Irish Rover' It is by far one of the best bars we have visited. The staff are excellent and we particularly became very good friends with the girls behind the bar, Sarah and Kayleigh. They were ever so welcoming and jolly all the time. You must pop in to see their dance routines - they are wicked and we also enjoyed their singing on the karaoke. It's a must go bar!

If you are going to Tenerife and you are in the Torviscas area, make sure you visit the 'Irish Rover'. The staff, the food and the entertainment are just right for a family night out. I have been going to Tenerife for many, many years and no visit is complete without visiting the 'Irish Rover'. Say hello to Benny and Wee Gordon who works the night shift - he is ace.

Travel date: March 2007
This bar was recommended to us by others. Although the bar itself is very average, the band is not. Around 12.30 p.m., the band 'kicks' off, and the guitarist and drummer are brilliant. They play music for all tastes, to include Oasis, Coldplay and many old time rock tunes. This band should not be missed and deserves credit for their brilliant performance. Well done boys!
