It is at an important communications hub, and lies some 30 kilometres from Girona and 50 kilometres from Perpignan in France. It is 16 kilometres miles from the resort of Roses. The town is the birthplace of Salvador Dali, and has a number of interesting museums, including, of course, the Dali Museum.
