The Costa del Silencio was the first area of southern Tenerife to be developed, some 30 years ago. The development took place around the small fishing village of Las Galletas, with its small black sand beach and natural harbour. There are a number of shops, restaurants and bars in Costa del Silencio, which is situated 12 kilometres north of Playa de Las Americas.

'Our Place' - excellent bar run by very friendly staff. Expect a big Geordie welcome from Jean, mein Host. Live entertainment most nights including karaoke. Excellent English meals very cheap.
'Costa del Silencio' is away from the hustle and bustle of Las Americas with very friendly bars. If you're a sports fan, head for 'Mr Booze' where Barry has every kind of sports always on TV. Again, a big Geordie welcome.
Adjacent to this bar is an avenue of good Spanish/Belgian/German/Italian and Chinese restaurants. The area is called 'Trebol'.
A ten minute walk away is the village of Las Galletas where you can watch the waves licking upon the shore whilst enjoying a coffee in one of the numerous bars, or perhaps wander into the village itself and enjoy tapas in the street restaurants.
'Flicks Bar' in Amarillo Bay is a must for Sunday lunch, where you will be entertained all day with visiting cabaret artistes, at least five singers. Don't get there till at least 2.30.
Bus service into Los Cristianos/Las Americas at least every 20 minuntes costing less than a pound a person. For the people that want the action, a taxi back to Silencio costs about 16 euros from Las Americas at night

Me and my wife went to Costa del Silencio with my folks for dad's 70th birthday. Had a great time wherever we went but 'Our Place' really stands out for fun and entertainment. Great welcome from Jean and staff, great atmosphere, entertainment and really strong rum and cokes!
We were Karaoke Kings at 'Our Place'. It is just a top fun venue and highly recommended.
