We have just come back from Arenal d'En Castell. We were staying at the White Sands Beach Club which was fine. We tended to go away from the Beach Club to eat. There were four of us (my wife and two friends).

'Smithy's' was located about five minutes walk away and is English run by John Smith and his family. The atmosphere is great and they cannot do enough for you. The food is all home made and my wife says she never suffers from a bad stomach when we eat there. John even threw in a descent bottle of champers one night as we were having a little celebration. The bill is inexpensive and you get good value for money.

I shall be heading back there when we return to Menorca.

Visited Arenal d'en Castell for the first time in May 2007 and found a little gem of a place called 'Smithy's'. Only regret was that we didn't go there until our fourth night. 'Smithy's' is a gastro-pub that serves excellent food at very reasonable prices, combine this with the very friendly welcoming owner, lovely atmosphere and attentive staff and we found it a real winner.
