Calas de Mallorca Information

Calas de Mallorca (Cales de Mallorca) is a purpose-built, cliff-top resort which consists of a central commercial area with hotel buildings scattered around. It is on the eastern coast of Mallorca with slightly less activities and entertainment than Mallorca's more commercial resorts. There is a collection of bars and restaurants concentrated in the centre of the resort but other than that, entertainment is provided by the hotels.

Calas de Mallorca has three sandy coves, the largest of which is Playa Domingos which has an assortment of water sports available. This resort is suited for families and couples due to the less vibrant pace and comparatively quiet entertainment on offer.

Calas de Mallorca is approximately 81 kilometres from Palma airport which is about one and a half to two hours transfer time by coach.

Calas de Mallorca is great but the best thing is the town. It has all sorts of stuff (e.g arcades) and there are lots of restaurants that have delicious food. There is a restaurant just opposite the hotel Samoa. I went there every night and loved the food.

I have been to Calas de Mallorca five times and every time I love it even more. The beaches are stunning but they can get very busy. The town is full of little shops selling t-shirts and nik naks, not ideal if you want a spending spree. The people there are so friendly, not sure how anyone can say they are ignorant.

There are a lot of cafes and restaurants and a few good bars. Nightlife is fairly low key, ideal if you are on a family holiday. However, I went with a friend three years ago and we had a fantastic time. This year I'm taking my two year old and I'm sure he will have a great time. I would recommend Calas de Mallorca to almost anyone.

Would recommend anyone stays away from this part of the island if you like the beach.....and don't we all. The Club Eurocalas was ok but the rest of the resort was expensive, two terrible beaches and the locals were ignorant. Can't tell you how poor this place was. Don't waste your money. Visit Alcudia instead as this is my next port of call. See ya there Aug 04

Sorry I can't remember the name of the Chinese but it's situated right outside the front entrance of the hotel at the little shopping arcade. The food is great with a varied menu and excellent service. It's reasonably priced and it's well worth a visit.

Thank goodness for this bar - it made the stay in our unbearable hotel bearable. Nice atmosphere, friendly guys and the food next door great. Keep up the good work.

Karen and her Spanish husband run this pub. What a lovely couple plus its buy one get one free. Karen works very hard in the pub but always has a smile on her face plus she was very nice to me on my birthday, I had been on boat trip all day and had got sunstroke so she waited on us all night as well as giving advice.

I would definitely go to this resort again. Make sure you use local buses. Caves of Drach only five minutes away and cheaper than reps tours 1.40 euros on bus and eight euros to get in. Well worth it.
