Colonia Sant Jordi |
Colonia Sant Jordi is a quiet holiday resort, that was originally established in 1879 as an agricultural and fishing colony. The original fishing harbour still exists and every day a small ferry sails over to the island of Cabrera, a tiny rocky island that measures only six kilometres by five kilometres and which was designated a National Park in 1991.
The beach of Sa Platja des Port is located next to the marina and fishing port of Colonia Sant Jordi and on the other side of the town are the beaches of Ets Estanys, Es Trenc (nudist beach), Es Dolç and Es Carbó, which are widely regarded as being the best beaches on the island.
