With its narrow streets and closed looking building façades, Llucmajor is not very full of tourists, especially since it is 15 kilometres from the coast. However, on Fridays, the town square in front of the town hall hosts a fruit and vegetable market, which brings the town to life. There are a number of bars and snack bars around the main square and the local cake shop is very popular.

On entering the town from the south, visitors can see the statue of King Jaume III of Mallorca who lost his life in 1349 during a battle in Llucmajor and which is a reminder of the most important event in local history.
