"I Love Torrimolinos"

Well, I have basically grown up in Torremolinos and I love it. I think it is brilliant for families, the old, the single, couples or the young. It caters for everyone. I think the thing that strikes me is that everyone is so friendly.
I do love 'Dreams' as well, in Playa Mar and 'Tina's' bar in central Torremolinos. They are my favourite bars, also 'El Open Arms', also located in the centre.
I didn't stay at any hotel as I stay in my apartment, but I must say I have been to Zante, Magaluf and Ibiza but you can't beat the tranquillity and diverseness of Torremolinos and the place really does mean a lot to me. So excited going this year and I have a ball each time.

"This Place Is Super"

Well what can I say? This place has it all, whether you are a family, a couple or a young group you are definitely going to enjoy. Where ever you stay in the resort you will be central to every thing that is going on as most of the hotels are situated on the edge of the town centre which has all the shops you can imagine from ladies, men's and children's wear, sports, perfume to your more traditional stores and markets that sell Spanish gifts. Also in the town you will find places to eat, drink and dance. It has quite a large gay scene but gay bars are not the main attraction. The night clubs are quite spread out and its better to ask the locals and taxi drivers the best places to go. However, if you prefer your bars and clubs to be a little closer together, then the 24 hour square in Benalmadena will be ideal for you. It's about ten minutes taxi ride and there are several places for you to go, including a 'Linekers' it's not Magaluf but its still good!
In the day time there is even more stuff to do including markets, the crocodile park, the aqua park, there's a bull fighting arena, mini golf and of course there's the beautiful beach - its a massive stretch from one end of Torremolinos to the other and its clean with loads of space to relax. I stayed in private villa with my boyfriend. We are both 21 and are used to 18-30 type resorts but have to say this was one of the best holidays I have had.
You must go to 'Dreams' bar in Playa Mar - it is a karaoke disco bar but the owners are wicked and we had a great time every time we went. 'Mulligans' Irish bar rocks too – they have djs and live music and it is right on the sea front. You must also go the crocodile park – that's fab! I'm going again soon and that's why I'm writing this because I'm getting excited. Ha, ha - enjoy yourselves!

Went back to Carihuela this year and was delighted to see that the 'Carihuela Carvery & Bar' was still open and still being run by the same family. The food was better than I remembered. You must go and eat here. Restaurant is very tastefully decorated and clean, food is home cooked and prepared fresh and the bar is well stocked. The desserts are to die for and would recommend the stroganoff and the steaks! Vegetarians and coealiacs catered for. If you don't see what you like, just ask the chef and he will cook what you want. Bargain prices but quality food.

"Best Place To Eat"
Travel date:
July 2006
Carihuela Carvery & Bar, Calle de La Luna. We decided to try this place out as recommended by a reviewer and what a fantastic place to eat! Excellent value for money. They offered a carvery buffet or an a-la-carte menu. Food was home cooked and extremely delicious. The staff are very friendly and most welcoming. The bar was well stocked and the restaurant itself was spotlessly clean and the service was great. A very relaxed atmosphere and you weren't made to feel you had to rush your food (even though they were always very busy). They also catered for children and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. An extremely pleasurable dining experience which prompted us to go back on at least four occasions. Would recommend this place to everyone as you won't be disappointed – guaranteed.

Interesting resauraunt located on the beach opposite the Copa Cobanna bar. Food was average but one particular waitress was extremely rude. I think she ran the restauraunt. Would certainly not recommend anyone to go along. There is a Chinese next door of a much higher quality.

I stayed at a hotel in Playamar and overheard a group of teenagers saying what a great time they had at 'Dreams Disco'. Off we went to check it out for ourselves. What a disappointment. The worlds worst karaoke singers screaming their heads off and the whole place is very shabby and grubby. I don't think the owners had spent a penny in years on the upkeep of the place!
If you want to listen to obscure music that no one can dance to, then this is the place for you, otherwise find somewhere else to enjoy yourselves on holiday.

The crocodile park is well worth a visit. All sizes from babies to a foot or two in length to a beast of about 18 feet. The guide was excellent, and gets into the compound several times on the tour. The kids had a magic time. At the end, you get to hold a baby (with its mouth firmly tied!). A good experience all round.
