Alanya is a beach resort city, situated on a small peninsula on the southern coast of Turkey,
between the Mediterranean Sea and the Taurus Mountains, in the area known as the Turkish Riviera, and has a typical Mediterranean climate with long hot dry summers and some rain in winter. Due to its position, Alanya has been a very important city since before Roman times, today it is mainly engaged in the tourism industry.
