"El Meson - The Best Place To Eat In Los Gigantes"
Travel date:
April 2007
We go to Los Gigantes every two years and one of the main reasons is this restaurant. The service is excellent and you always feel part of the family and they always recognise us, even two years apart and our kids and how they have grown. We have lots of fun there and the food is always excellent and since I have many food allergies, they take the time to prepare my food specially and it is no bother for them, which makes me feel better as many restaurants can't be bothered. We are going again in a few weeks and I can't wait to see them all again. This is THE place to go and try for everyone.

This restaurant is located in Los Gigantes. The food is all home made by Tracey and John. Once we found this place to eat, we never ate anywhere else! They were very friendly and ensured the children all had exactly what they wanted.

I love CKs and the owners John and Tracey. They make the best food ever and every time I'm in Tenerife, I get hungry thinking about it.

We visited El Meson on the recommendation of Sean from the Courtyard bar - we had always thought it looked quite expensive but boy were we wrong!! The food is excellent, with big helpings (only order the mixed grill for 2 if you have a big appetite as it is mammoth!!). The staff are really friendly and play jokes on the customers (like giving you a sherry glass of beer if you ask for a small beer, then bring you the normal glass!!) - and best of all the bill is a nice surprise as they give you so many freebies - including a bottle of wine to take home with you.

For a great meal, reasonably priced, go to Beeches Restaurant. The staff are English - food is great and freshly cooked.

Route 66 is fantastic. Entertainment from 'Old Dogs, New Tricks' was totally brilliant. Have been to the resort five times for holidays because it's so great. Once you visit Route 66 you won't want to go anywhere else, like me.
The bar staff are wonderful, especially Juan, he's gorgeous. Can't wait to go there again. Would move over there tomorrow if I could and enjoy this place every day.

While staying in the Balcons Apartment complex, the 'Courtyard' bar became a firm favourite. Close at hand, a two minute walk. Friendly staff and great entertainment. I must say that the quiz run by Meatloaf impersonator was good fun, even better when winning it.
If future visits occur, the 'Courtyard' is on the list of return visits.

'Route 66' - what can I say except this is another lively evening spot with nightly entertainment. The duet from 'Old Dogs, New Tricks' will not be forgotten as well as the the impromptu salsa lesson! Another place to re-visit!

The Courtyard Bar is the place to go if staying in Puerto Santiago. The bar staff are really friendly. Shaun the Irish lad is a laugh and a half. One show you must see is Vanessa Viagra and Meatloaf.

"The Courtyard - Great Night Out"

The Courtyard is a great night out. Have been many times over the past 10 years or so, but Sean and Julie have made it there own. Sean is a great, funny guy who made us welcome from the very start. Julie can belt out a good tune as well. Their talent knows no end. Thanks to both of them for a great time. Get yourself down there.

Torreon Bar is such a lovely place. It's immaculate. A restful haven. Up the stairs. Make sure you pay a visit. There is a separate bar for sports events and a lovely lounge area with views over the village.

"Best place to go!!"

For a great night out the Courtyard is a must. There are 2 cabarets on each night plus quizzes and videos and we were really inpressed with the quality of the acts. Jimmy Quiggly is a brilliant MC and does a cracking cabaret himself. Sean, the barman works his socks off every night keeping everyone topped up with drink (no struggling to the bar and missing half of the cabaret!!) plus keeping the tables cleared and the place tidy. Not only that but there is a really friendly atmosphere there with everyone mixing - we made a lot of friends while we were there. Plus, it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to stay there all evening as the drinks are very reasonably priced!! We were there till 2am every night so we should know!!!

The Courtyard Bar was very friendly with great entertainment. The landlord was Irish and so was the young barman who was eager to give you table service, rather than try and fight your way to the bar.
