Pollensa (Puerto) Information
The resort of Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollenca) is 58 kilometres north east of Palma. The original Roman town of Pollenca can be found five kilometres inland from the port whilst the bay of Pollenca is home to many yachts, as well as local fishing boats. There are a number of small natural beaches in the area, as well as the extended artificial one. The shallow waters of the bay make it especially popular for families with small children. Today the town attracts mainly British families as it has much to offer both young and old. The beach offers different water sports, there are many craft shops and boutiques and the weekly market is held in the church square. The pedestrianised 'Pine Walk' goes along the seafront and is lined with a variety of bistros, restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as several popular fish restaurants.The main feature of the resort is the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range that surrounds and shelters the town.Pollensa (Puerto) is also known as Puerto Pollensa, Port de Pollenca.
