Palmanova
Welcome to our Palma Nova hotels and information page. Palma Nova is located in Mallorca, Spain. If you wish to search for available hotels in Palma Nova please use the form on the left to check accommodation on your chosen travel dates. Palma Nova is also known as Palmanova.
Palma Nova Information
The resorts of Palma Nova (Palmanova) and Magaluf are situated on the island's south west coast at the western end of Palma Bay. Transfer time from the airport is about 20 to 30 minutes. Although technically the dividing point between Palma Nova and Magaluf is still somewhere on the rocky headland between the two beaches, the two resorts have, over the years, grown to the point where they now effectively merge into one, although of the two resorts Palma Nova is slightly quieter and is perhaps more suited to families.

During the high season, night life is vibrant and attracts a large number of young British and European tourists. There are many English style pubs, along with clubs and discos which, in the summer, rarely close before dawn.

Both Palma Nova and Magaluf have sandy beaches with everything on hand. Water sports, glass bottom boat trips, as well as shops, bars and restaurants all located along the wide traffic free promenades. There are many popular fast food restaurants, as well as a number of more traditional cafes and restaurants along the seafront in Palma Nova.

Review title: "A Great Place For All!"
Travel date: September 2007
We stayed in the Ola Panama Hotel (all inclusive). The hotel may be quite basic but the food was of a high standard and the rooms clean and pest free! The staff couldn't be faulted either, so if you're looking for a cheap holiday with a great location and clean rooms go there!

The beach is gorgeous and safe! Sunbeds 4.5 euros per day. Great for snorkelling or safe swimming and they keep the beaches lovely and clean! Take a walk along the beach and there are any number of cafes or bars to eat and drink in! The 'Blue Bar' (around where the jet skis are) is one of the best! Great food, great music and very friendly staff! 'Banana Joe's' is a good place for the younger crowd - very lively and fun!

The Ola Panama offered taster goes on jet skis, para gliding, horse riding, diving and banana rides, all at six euros each! We did the jet skiing and paragliding and it was brilliant (normal cost of hiring a jet ski is 60 euros!?!)

You can easily walk into Magaluf for even more entertainment - loads of night clubs, restaurants and bars. It's more for the younger crowd but good fun! And if you've had one or five too many, not too far to walk back! All in all a really great place to stay and well worth every penny!

Cheap, very cheerful, brilliant food and great staff. Kids loved it and so did we! We did the usual trawl of bars but found a real gem hidden away. Once in there we didn't want to go anywhere else. Colin's cheerful, helpful and brilliant with Sangria and kids! We recommend it to anyone and everyone! Thank you for a great time and see you soon!

Brilliant atmosphere, brilliant staff (especially the barmaid that only came for a holiday!) Frequented by locals, tourists and regulars alike. You may enter not knowing anyone but you go away feeling like part of the family! Colin's the host with the most by far - friendly, helpful and can always answer your questions! The prices are the best around and the chips are to die for! Try and find this place on your first night and you definitely won't want to go anywhere else - side of the BBV Bank! Brilliant, thank you for making my holiday one to remember! See you soon.

We enjoyed five out of seven nights in 'The Stadium' Palma Nova with fabulous cabaret acts (especially Rod Stewart). The set is super with several TV screens and excellent speaker system that meant that you could hear everything but still have a conversation. The bar staff are super! Highly recommended.

Looking forward to visiting 'Olas' bar again soon. It is a hidden gem in Palma Nova. Drinks, food and hospitality are second to none. Not for the sun-worshipers among you as it is in a shady side street, but don't let that put you off having a few drinks or something to eat in one of the best bars in Palma Nova.

See you soon Colin, get the sherry in (and plenty of John Smiths)!

We said it would be our last visit to Palma Nova (as it's the third time!) but we think we may have to go back later in the year to see Colin and co, as we just couldn't keep away! Keep up the good work guys and hope to see you soon.

What a fab place for a quieter drink! No fancy decor but cheap drinks and company aplenty. The bar owner Colin is so helpful and funny (very dry sense of humour). It seriously is the cheapest bar and everyone gets talking to each other by the end of the night. We are a family aged 35, 37, and six with my parents 69 and 74 and we all enjoyed it. We made it our first and last stop each night. Colin, if you ever read this, we are coming back! Take care.

O'Neills is not the cheapest place to drink but it has a nice friendly atmosphere and serves excellent pub grub. There are three TV screens so that you can watch the football and when there is no football, there is music, very often traditional Irish music. The fact that many local workers, all be it British ex-pats, use it as their local, speaks volumes for its popularity.
