"A Pleasant And Busy Resort"

A lovely resort - plenty of bars, shops and restaurants. Very active on an evening but not noisy. Bustling with life. Mainly German orientated but there are plenty of English bars around.
My wife and two children first went to Paguera in 2003 and again in 2004 and then again twice in 2005. The beach is just off the main street and is very clean and tidy with plenty of lovely beach side bars that don't actually rip you off because you're sat near the beach. Overall a very nice resort to go to that is not over commercialised.

"Best Pizza In Paguera"
Travel date:
August 2006
A wonderful Scottish welcome from David and Louisa, who are one of the friendliest couples we met in Paguera. This lovely little bistro is just off the main promenade and has a huge selection of crepes, tapas, pizzas and more, which made a delicious and welcome change to the menus on offer elsewhere.
They are very well known locally for their pizzas - we even saw a guy who worked in the pizza place along the road, come in and order one from here. You can sit in or takeaway and they have indoor and outdoor seating which makes a lovely place to sit and order some cocktails or sangria (also some of the nicest we tried), have a chat or just relax and enjoy watching the world go by. I thoroughly recommend a visit to this lovely bistro.

Great English bar with all UK sky sports channels and good food. Very friendly owners (apart from the fact they are Leeds United football fans!). Address is 6, Mimosa. Go up Eucaliptus from Bulevar de Peguera and it is the first road on the left (no entry for vehicles this way though).

Good range of entertainment each evening. Very friendly and efficient staff. Would have been ten out of ten but for the highly strung guitar player who started arguing with other staff and upset some customers on our second visit here.

I read the reviews about this bar, before going on holiday and decided to pay it a visit. From the minute we arrived, we where made to feel so welcome. Mark and Marie are the nicest people you could meet and will put themselves out to make sure you enjoy yourself. We met so many nice people who return to the bar every year for the same reason, and it really made our holiday!
We had the nicest curry and rice made by Marie and I have to say it was the best meal we had! Mark even drove us to the airport on our return home for a very cheap rate!
I hope if you visit Paguera, you take the time to visit Bar Calilou! It's definitley worth the visit! Keep up the good work Mark and Marie!

Having spent a miserable overcast first few days, myself and my daughter happened upon Bar Calilou and thank goodness we did as this absolutely made our holiday. Marie and Mark were no doubt the most friendly, welcoming people we had met on the resort. Accommodating isn't the word - they even gave up their only day off when they usually close the bar, to open up so that we and other football fans could watch the game - top folk who put you before themselves to ensure that you have the best time possible. Beer and food also top notch but watch out for the Tunnel shots, lethal! Marie, Mark, if you're reading this hope to see you again sometime and thanks again, it was a blast.

This was our first time visiting Paguera and met Billy and Alicia who have just opened this bar. They made us very welcome. A true Scottish welcome. They also recommended many other British bars. If they make all their customers as welcome as us, I'm sure they will have a great season. We will definitely be back.

This bar has to be run by the two most obliging people that I have had the pleasure to meet for years. Mark and Marie will try to accommodate any reasonable request. The food is very good and Sunday lunch really is like mother makes. Keep up the good work, see you next year. Thanks once again, it was great.

Well, what can I say, 10/10 all round for Mark and Marie! Lovely people and a lovely bar! The food and drink are both highly recommended and their company even more so! They took me under their wing and looked after me like their own this summer as I landed a scared 20 year old doing a university placement in a bank in Paguera. Luckily I found them, and without their help, I wouldn't have found an apartment the day I got there and without their vodka, lime and lemonades I wouldn't have enjoyed the experience half as much! I look forward to seeing them next again year!!

Mark and Marie who run Bar Calilou in Paguera are such a wonderful welcoming couple, nothing is too much trouble for them and they love the kids too. We first met Mark and Marie in 2004 not too long after they first opened I think. We were made welcome straight away; it was just like visiting family. If they haven't got your drink in on your first visit, they will try there best to get it for you, and if you fancy a bite to eat whether large or small they will prepare it for you, (Sunday lunch is especially good). They have quite a large range on the menu but if they have it they will make it for you. We met them in 2004 and went to see them again in 2005 twice and we will keep going there as long as we are in Paguera.

This bar is set just of the Boulevard and looks spectacular. It has a huge terrace with lots of shade. It is run by a young, fun couple called Richard and Lara. They could not do enough to make us feel welcome. Within the first day we classed them as friends, and enjoyed a whole week of partying with them. We were introduced to many other British bar owners, and shown all the best places to eat. We really felt like a part of the Paguera community. Fantastic service and drinks. EXCELLENT

What a fantastic couple Mark & Marie from Yorkshire are who run Bar Calilou. They go out of their way to make you welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The food is just like home cooking but tastes even better and the warm friendly atmosphere is superb.
They are situated just off the main street. Turn up a side street opposite Burger King and you are sure of a warm friendly welcome. We can't praise Mark & Marie enough. Thanks for making our holiday the best so far. We hope to return in the near future.

The cafe is run by Bob and Kaz, very accomodating couple. Most of all if yuu want a good meal, Cafe Marina is the place to go. Try out the breakfasts there. They are amazing. Best breakfast in the whole of Paguera. I highly recommend paying the cafe a visit as soon as you arrive.

We went to Paguera for the first time last year for two weeks. We had only been there a couple of days when we popped into this bar named 'Calilou'. The couple who own it, Mike and Marie, are two of the friendliest people we have ever met. They made our holiday extra special for us and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even take pictures of you and pin it up along the top of the bar. Just want to say thanks to them and hope to see them again soon.
