Alvor Information
The small town of Alvor is believed to have been founded by the Carthaginians. It is situated some seven kilometres west of Portimao on the southern coast of the Algarve. Today this is a popular holiday resort, with a long sandy beach and a number of small coves, but it still retains its narrow Algarvian type streets.
