The small town of Alvor is believed to have been founded by the Carthaginians. It is situated some seven kilometres west of Portimao on the southern coast of the Algarve. Today this is a popular holiday resort, with a long sandy beach and a number of small coves, but it still retains its narrow Algarvian type streets.

If you want quality food, wine and service, this is the place for you. Lovely couple own it - Rogerio, who is Portuguese and his Irish wife, Cathy. Food is excellent. I would recommend the shrimp starter and any fish or steak. The staff really know how to make you feel special and all tastes catered for.
