HotelStreet guest rating of Nerja (from 6 hotel reviews). |
Although a popular tourist destination, Nerja retains traces of its fishing village and agricultural past. It is popular with British and Scandinavian guests. Development is generally low rise and sensitive to local style. Many of the narrow streets of the old town show signs of the town's Moorish past efforts have been made to restore the original Andalucian tiling and paving.
There are seven beaches, the most popular being Playa de Burriana. There are several small restaurants/coffee bars right on the beach, offering fish dishes and paella. Entertainment includes beach and water-based activities as well as a range of restaurants specialising in local cuisine, bars and a couple of discos. There are a number of British fast-food outlets, as well international options. A regular bus service links Nerja with Malaga and the towns in between.
