The history of Ibiza Town goes back to pre Roman times and the old walled city, built on a hill with a fort, dates from the 16th century. The old town and the old port area are full of cobbled winding streets, leading up the hill, with many bars and restaurants. The main beaches are Talamanca and Figueretas which are just outside of the town.
