The Sierra Nevada ski resort is situated in the Penibetic mountain range in Andalusia, only some 30 kilometres from Granada. This is the southernmost ski resort in Europe and it has 39 ski runs and six off-course trails, with a vertical drop of about 1,209 metres. There are a number of chair lifts and ski lifts, and the resort has modern snow making equipment. The main village is Pradollano, at an altitude of about 2,015 metres, with many hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs and pubs.
