Santa Pola is a coastal town situated about 15 kilometres south of Alicante. The town dates back to Roman times, and there are many historical buildings including a fort, built in 1558, which is now a cultural centre. The town has a number of beaches and a harbour, and is a popular tourist resort.

We went to Santa Pola on a day out with my mum, aged 76, wife, her friend, one toddler, one junior and a teenager. Well, there is not much around - beach shops and a lovely cafe we went to. We got lot of things - seven lots of chips, maybe more, five sandwiches, several drinks, ice cream and cake. The cafe was right near the beach. The average bill must have been around 35 euros.
It was a lovely day but there was not much to for children. If there was no beach, you would be stuck for children but we liked it, although it was way out and we could have gone to a cafe and beach were we were. We expect more than shops and beach and lots of cafes.
