Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands and the nearest to Africa. The island is about 100 kilometres long and about 32 kilometres wide and is only some 100 kilometres from the coast of Morocco. Fuerteventura boasts about 150 long sandy beaches, many of which are popular with wind surfers and divers.
