The two key Solana Apartments are situated on the hillside some 900 metres from the beach and 1000 metres from the centre of Puerto Rico on the south western coast of Gran Canaria, about 50 kilometres from the airport.
The accommodation at the two storey Solana complex, which was renovated in 2003, comprises 34 apartments, each having a private bathroom and shower, a kitchenette and a balcony or terrace. Each apartment is equipped with pay to view television and a rental safety deposit box.
The facilities at the apartments include a swimming pool (surrounded by a sun terrace with sun beds and parasols), a bar and a laundry. There are many bars, shops and restaurants in the resort centre.
Board basis available at these apartments is self catering.

We have just returned from a week at the Solana. We first stayed there two years ago and we were really amazed that Brock remembered us. It is really clean and friendly there, the pool is brilliant and there are plenty of sun beds to go around at this time of year. The steps are a bit of a killer and the reception is not open very much, but you will usually find Brock at the poolside bar either cooking away or giving away the free shots.
The apartments are basic but clean, the maids go two to three times a week. With the friendly atmosphere and the infamous Brock, the Solana is well worth a visit. Plus there were no cockroaches to be seen whilst we were there. A great holiday had by us all and we will definitely be going again next year.
