The four star Hotel Sol de Mar is located right by the beach in the heart of Albufeira. The beach and the promenade are reached via a lift.
The rooms in the hotel are equipped with an en suite bathroom with a hair dryer, telephone, satellite television, sitting area, internet access, fridge, individually adjustable air conditioning and central heating, a balcony or terrace with a sea views and a safety deposit box.
The Sol e Mar was built in 1965 and renovated in 1999. It offers a total of six floors and 74 double rooms. facilities include a 24 hour reception desk, games room, television room, public internet access, café, bar, air-conditioned à la carte restaurant, indoor swimming pool and room and laundry services.
Board basis available at this hotel is half board.

Sol e Mar has the best location in Albufeira. The back of the hotel is right on the beach via a lift and the front takes you directly into town. We were on the fifth floor and had spectacular views. The room was spacious and comfortable, if a bit dated, whilst the bathroom was very much in need of a make over. All very clean.
Now we come to the restaurant (we had bed and breakfast). The food was the same every day, luke warm and tasteless, no variety at all and we felt very poor quality. There was no front of house staff except for one woman who stood picking her facial spots and then handling the cutlery as we watched her. The other staff were uncommunicative and all had a couldn't care less attitude.
Apart from these negative points, we had a wonderful holiday.
