"Orquidea Aparthotel"
Travel date:
August 2007
Just returned from Ibiza, two weeks half board. This is the fifth year running and I'm sorry to say, the last. Since changed to having all inclusive as from last year, food is well below average, sliced beef, beef stew and beef stroganoff. My kids are really fussy and there were no kids' meals.
The entertainment is audience participation. Consists of Mr Orquidea Night, Miss Orquidea Night, karaoke, 'Playboy' etc. Starts with a kids' mini disco at nine for 20-30 minutes then bingo. One night a week a really good dance act or international act, which is great. Last week guests from the hotel rehearsed all day scenes from 'Grease', the musical - a night watching miming and swaying, pathetic.
The hotel staff are lovely and it's right on the beach. The race for sunbeds in the morning is unbelievable. Should be banned. Sorry no more Orquidea - adios. Santa Eulalia, yes, Aparthotel Orquidea, no.

Orquidea Aparthotel is fantastic. They have everything you need and more. Entertainment on during the day and evening for both adults and kids with Kev and Lila who are brilliant. Shops and restaurants a very short walk up the promenade and whether you stay half board or self catering, you can eat in the hotel restaurant which has nice food available.
The studios and one bedroom apartments are lovely and have microwaves, kettles, televisions and toasters and the maids visit your room everyday, whether it is to empty bins, change beds or change towels etc. This was our second visit as we came October last year and we love it that much we would go every year.

"The Oqruidea Experience"
Travel date:

Having 'found' the Oqruidea on a chance booking, we decided to revisit last year in October, this time by our choice.
We were not disappointed, the staff at the hotel are great and one of our main resons for revisiting was the room that we had the first time, if my memory serves me right it was... oh! no I'm not about to tell everyone which room we had, least to say that it overlooked the sea, marina, beach and promenade. The balcony is bigger than most rooms in Spain, separate bedroom, lovely bathroom... I could go on.
We normally try to go out of school holidays to avoid the crowds and the staff at the hotel look after the youngsters better than most of the 'big' operators clubs.
Whilst the food at the hotel is not stunning, who cares when 'restaurant street' opens each evening with a choice of cuisine to shame most resorts on mainland Spain.
If you're looking for Ibiza without the noise yet within 20 minutes of the town by bus, this is definitely the place to be.
