"Ripped off New Year 2009"
Travel date:
December 2008
We booked this hotel in July 2008, six months prior to departure, on a half board basis. On New Year's morning, we were informed we couldn't have our evening meal unless we paid an extra £120.00 each as the gala dinner was not included. Rubbish - there were no other meals that evening. I explained we had booked half board and expected our evening meal that we had paid for.
We go away, usually Spain, for every New Year and have never had to pay any extra as it has always been included. They insisted we couldn't have our meal. We spent the whole of New Year's Eve morning trying to sort the matter out. This was just disgusting treatment and totally ruined our holiday, what we had left of it.
Had this happed in Britain, they would have been shut down but then this wouldn't happen here. Travel Republic informed us that they would pay for our meal that evening at a restaurant of our choice which came to a total of £135.00, not bad considering the hotel wanted an extra £120.00 each and now I am fighting to get my money back for the meals. From this company's letters, 'phone calls and more letters and 'phone calls messing me about, I am now reporting them to ABTA. I would never stay at a Sol hotel again nor would I book with Travel Republic.

"Brilliant Time For All"
Travel date:
August 2007
Hello. My mum and I stayed at the hotel Sol Don Pedro for seven days and wish we could have stayed longer.
Hotel staff were very friendly and very accommodating. On arrival we were given a family room but there were only two of us so they moved us to a superior room (which you would have to pay an extra seven euros for) at no extra cost due to the inconvenience caused.
Rooms were very nice, very clean, air conditioning was fantastic (even worked with balcony doors open and didn't have to leave the key in the power socket). My mum was extremely happy with this.
Food was exceptional, varied from night to night and there is even an Italian area which serves pizza, spaghetti bolognese etc, brilliant for the children.
Entertainment was great at the sister hotel Don Pablo each night.
All in all was a very relaxed and chilled holiday which is what myself and mum were looking for. We have no complaints. Well done Sol Don Pedro and thank-you for a brilliant holiday. Will definitely recommend it to others.
