I stayed at the Galeon Playa last year and it seemed nice. This year we asked for the same room and they went to the trouble of telling us which one it was. When we arrived though, they had forgotten. Nice! Hotel is definitely more a three star than a four star and no good really for self catering as the kitchens have very little of what you need to cater for yourself. Last year we had food included and I guess it would be best for that, but if self catering, don't bother. I got an electric shock twice off the cooker and it blew all the lights the second time, even though it had been fixed!

The hotel needs money spending on it but as the whole resort seems to have been badly affected by the recession, I cannot see them doing that. Many shops and bars were closed and the ones left were desperate to get you in which was a bit sad.

The location was lovely but like I said, it has been affected badly by lack of tourists. I think if you are someone that gets bored easily, then this resort is not for you. Try Puerto del Carmen where there is a lot more night life and things to do. If you want a scenic relaxing time with nice views, then Costa Teguise is perfect.

The Galeon Playa is a lovely hotel with all that you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. Unfortunately I was let down with the maintenance of our apartment, as the door frame had a crack which prevented the door from locking correctly, which my four year old do not know, so as he shut the door he managed to lock him self and his dad into the bedroom. As I could not open the door I had to go down to reception to call for maintenance. I was lucky I had some clothes in the living room or that would have been embarrassing first thing in the morning. Maintenance had to break the door frame to open it. We were promised on several occasions this would be mended but was never done throughout our stay. This could have been dangerous if it had been myself and husband locked in, with a two year old and four year left to roam on a balcony - how long would it have taken to get help?

Great hotel, just right for beach, shops, restaurants, buses around the island. We had a lovely time here in December. The weather was great.

I usually go to the other Canary Islands but will be back to this resort for sure. Unspoilt and very cosy resort, not too far to anything you will need. The market is very varied and most things you need are here. I am not easily pleased but loved this resort. Adios.

Our family of four have just returned from these apartments after two weeks relaxation. We had a two bedroomed apartment that normally sleeps six for the four of us. Did pay more, but the extra space is great.

Absolutely fantastic on the whole. Pool tiles a bit slippy but other than that the hotel and resort were perfect. We've booked again for September.

I went there and it must be the best holiday I have ever been on !!!!!!!!!! Action packed holiday this is!!!!! Loved Dawin, the entertainer !! Fantastic holiday. Would love to go back again!!!!!
