Review title: "Old, Noisy, Dirty And Tired Hotel With Smells Of Sewage In Unattractive Surroundings"
Travel date: July 2009
Do not consider this place as an option for your holiday unless your teenagers are alcoholic, you like listening to people sitting on their toilet, your favourite thing in life is playing bingo and you treasure horrible smells and dirt.

We are a family of four that stayed at this hotel in July and we have never been so unhappy about any accommodation. Upon our arrival, we were surprised because the hotel is right in the middle of an industrial road and I have no idea who on earth can describe it as a good location! It is a ten minutes fast walk to the centre of the town and it is nowhere near the popular areas with restaurants and the attractions. I would be interested to know, who can describe this place as well located, because that is untrue.

Once we arrived at the reception, we were greeted by a friendly lady receptionist who directed us to our room and the nightmare started. The fridge smelt like a dirty nappy, the microwave had leftover food from last year's guests, there was sugar from the previous guests all around the kitchen area, the sofa was unbelievably dirty with actual black corners and cigarette burns all over it and the beds were old and smelly and very uncomfortable. We wanted to start our holiday with no complaints, so we cleaned all the dirt, although the smell of the fridge was very hard to get rid of. By the evening, we visited the bar of the hotel and we saw that selling alcohol to kids aged 15 and under was no problem at this place as long as they had their cash ready and gangs of drunk teenagers behaving like little gangsters was a normal activity in this hotel, together with the voice of the entertainer, who did several games of bingo for the drunken parents.

The most disturbing thing about this place was the noise and lack of privacy. The walls were so thin that you could clearly hear your neighbour sitting on the toilet and also the general noise from the drunk holiday makers that have no respect for others. And this is an ongoing activity that goes on all night, so you actually never ever get the chance to have an hour of solid sleep. At night there was one man at the reception and no security guard on the premises and on the second night when we were getting our key, we mentioned it to him and he shrugged his shoulders and gave us the idea that this was normal and what did we want from him!

We simply believe that we were ripped off and someone has to look into this hotel very closely. Disregard all good comments about the Gran Santa Ponsa because there is nothing good about noise, dirt, thin walls and drunk aggressive teenagers.

Just returned from one week in the Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments yesterday. Two adults, child and Gran aged 80 (she enjoyed every minute). Apartments are nice, staff are exceptional and night time entertainment really good. The hypnotist show was the funniest thing I have ever seen. All around, fantastic and highly recommended.

Review title: "Loved Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments!"
Travel date: July 2008
Stayed at the Gran Santa Ponsa with husband and two children (aged five and three) and had a fantastic holiday. Apartments are very family friendly. Staff are great. Entertainment is on every night. Kiddies' club is on six days a week (twice a day) with parties on during the week e.g. pyjama party (€12 per child) on twice a week (8.30 p.m. - 11.30 p.m.) where kids' reps give children a party while you go off for three hours on the town!

Restaurants - try 'Rhein' restaurant and 'Kelly's On The Corner' and bars - 'Scottish Corner'. Beach etc. is approximately five to ten minutes walk away. Beach is really beautiful. Loved it so much we're going back for a week in October! Highly recommended.

Review title: "Best Place Ever!"
Travel date: June 2008
Went here to stay with me Ma, Grandad, two sisters and three brothers. We had to get two apartments because we have a big family. This was no problem as they gave us the apartments right next door to each other and gave me Ma an extra key to each door, so she could watch the boys.

Although it was not a great place for teenagers, it was still very good. The apartments themselves were brilliant for me Ma and the smaller kids.

Mary the entertainer is the best thing since sliced bread - she really took the time to ensure that me Ma, as well as the kids, enjoyed her time there. Nothing we asked for was any trouble and we even won the bingo one night!

The only thing was I felt that the apartments were a little too far away, but that's what me Ma loved about them?

We ate there a few times and the food was not bad and the cleaners were great - they came in nearly everyday. I was delighted because I didn't have to clean. Bar staff are all mental but great craic!

I would recommend this place to anyone as we were in the States last year and the kids taught that Santa Ponsa was better! Thank you Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments and thank you Mary for giving us the best holiday. It really was the holiday of a lifetime. It was great to see me Ma unwind and relax and enjoying herself because with four smaller ones and two teenage girls, I think she kind of needed it.

Anyone reading this and have any doubts, just go - you wont regret it.

Travel date: October 2007
Went to for a week in October 2007 and found it a fine place to stay. Santa Ponsa itself was a bit quiet for the time of year, but the apartments were clean and tidy, although living area a bit small for a family of four. Staff all very pleasant and of course big respect for Mary, the children's entertainer and cook expert, amongst other things. All round a good week at the Gran Santa Ponsa.

Travel date: July 2007
When we arrived our room was not ready, which meant we had to wait in the lobby for three hours until we could check our luggage in.

The drink in the pool bar is all watered down. If you stay up late enough you will see them fill up the Smirnoff bottles with goodness knows what.

Our room was OK if you could stand the smell of cats' urine. When we complained we were told the cats were needed to keep the giant rats away.

On check out we found out that the hotel had misplaced my passport which they kept on check in.

Just got back from two wonderful weeks at the Gran Santa Ponsa. The resort was ace. The apartments were immaculate, the staff fantastic. Mary the entertainer was brilliant, my daughter loved her. Lifeguard around the pool all day.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it had easy access to main road at back of the apartments so any one could walk in, which they did, but the lifeguard quickly removed them. Can't wait to go back next year. Do not book with First Choice. Go see 'Pirates', it's fantastic. See you all next year.

The bar staff was brilliant, not too mention the good looking one, Jose - I think that's his name! He was really really nice and also funny! So I would just like too thank you so much for this holiday and will see you all next year!

Really nice staff! Very helpful, they even knocked some money off excursion tickets for us! The rooms were slightly cold at night and the windows are very thin so you could hear all the mopeds going past, but that's the only fault. Had a lovely pool there. Was a bit cold but it was okay once you braved it. Staff are available 24 hours a day. I even miss the flowery chairs!

The staff are very friendly. Was my second time here but we had our little girl who was 11 months travelling. The food was fantastic, especially when you had a severe hangover and it was great to have it open at 11, especially if you are Irish like me. Going back in July next year. Can't wait.

I thought Gran Santa Ponsa was great. I really enjoyed my stay. I admired the entertainer Mary as she was on her own and really inspired me.

I am going back again this year although instead of there only being three of us, there will be 15 and I can't wait.

There is a good supermarket right across the roads and shop just down the road. The pool is amazing, really refreshing, it's not freezing but it's not hot so it's fine. I can't wait to go back.

Our stay at the Gran Santa Ponsa was for one week only in that time the air conditioning broke down. Being peak season, it was really hot. We told the reception who got the engineer out but still nothing was done. For three nights we had no air conditioning although the reception staff were very good and polite. They gave us some fans but this wasn't enough.

The hotel itself was really clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and always clean, although you had to rise early to get a sun bed. The beach and shops are just a stroll away with the restaurants and cafes. There is a supermarket just across the road. I won't let the air conditioning stop me from going back again as this is a really child friendly hotel.

The Gran Santa Ponsa apartments are really great. We just arrived back today and want you to know what a nice place it is to stay at. The apartments are spotless. The pool is fantastic. There is entertainment on every night, free. Life guards to keep on eye on the kids in the pool. Supermarkets close by for your shopping, beach just down the street. I could go on. It's a fantastic place and we shall be taking our four grandkids there next year. Top banana!

Gran Santa Ponsa is really hard to beat. Great for all ages. My grandma 72, sister 12, my son seven and my self 26 all had a great time. The staff were so friendly. The children were really looked after with the highest standard of childcare you could ever dream of.

When we arrived at the hotel we realised we had left one of our suit cases at the airport. Within minutes one of the staff offered a taxi to take us back to get our suitcase and they drove us back to Palma to get it. Can't wait to go back this year – 7th August can't come soon enough. Special thanks to Mary.

A last minute holiday in a fairly quiet location is what we wanted. What we got was exactly that. The apartments were spotless and the towels were changed daily along with the apartment being cleaned! The pool and surrounding areas were spotless too. A lifeguard who was on the ball and clearly visible was a real bonus for those who had children with them.

The staff were wonderful - ever present, cheerful and extremely helpful with regards to any questions you may have, top marks to them all!

Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments were very comfortable and clean, with towels changed and rooms cleaned daily. Considering we took four young children, the apartments catered superbly for all our needs, with a great pool and a life guard who seemed to be on the ball all day.

The short walk to the beach and restaurants proved perfect for us. The holiday overall was brilliant and we will definitely be going back to the same apartments next year.

I am a tennager and I think that if you are parents bringing teens on holiday, this is the best poaaible place to bring them. I loved it! Apartments are gorgeous, reception area very comfortable to get away from the heat every now and then. It is close to everything you could possibly need, a wide range of shops and of course, close to Santa Ponsa's amazing pubs and clubs. So you can walk to anywhere you need to go! I fully recommend visiting the Grand Santa Ponsa apartments. The staff are wonderful and it also has some HOTTT lifeguards! I give it 10 out of 10 for families with both young kids and teenagers!
