"It's Not That Bad"

I personally feel that people should not feel put off from staying at the Gala Placidia hotel. Me and my boyfriend stayed there at the start of August and were a bit worried by the reviews we had read. But when we stayed there we found the hotel to be very clean and definately three star, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful enough and it was nicely situated not far from the beach, night life and shopping.
Meals were definately edible. My boyfriend can be a fussy eater but he was never left hungry at meal times.

"Gala Placidia Hotel - Dont Go There!"

Once we arrived at the Gala Placidia hotel, firstly we weren't happy with the size of the swimming pool. We had money stolen from the hotel room (480 euros), which they obviously had to rummage to find because the money was in my mate's underwear draw.
Doors were open when we returned from a night out. We had prank calls at 3 a.m. from reception and someone actually entered our room in the middle of the night. I got up and the door was open. Couldn't lock door from the inside.
Complained to the receptionist and manager they were very rude and no help. All our rep said was don't annoy the manager. Once we complained that we thought that it was the maid that took our money, the maids stopped cleaning our rooms.
Food was awful - not catering for the English and raw meat!
No sun loungers. You have to be up at 6 a.m. if you want one. Holiday from hell!

"Gala Placidia Hotel Is Rubbish"
Travel date:

My sister and I had really been looking forward to this holiday and couldn't wait to get there. What a huge disappointment.
We didn't realise it was a mostly Spanish speaking hotel and that no one could hardly speak a word of English. Entertainment was all in Spanish so in the evenings we felt quite isolated.
The food was disgusting and there was not a lot of choice. For the most part we found the majority of the staff unfriendly and uncooperative. We wouldn't recommend the Gala Placidia hotel to English people.

"Gala Placidia Is OK"

My husband and l are just back from Gala Placidia with our 12 year old daughter. Hotel is nice and clean. Maid service every day. Staff are friendly although some can't speak English. Food is not very good, catered more for Spanish guests. Breakfast is always cold and bread has to be put through toaster four or five times before it turns brown. The pool is nice and children's pool is safe and shallow. Pool area cleaned morning and night. Always plenty sun loungers if you wish to sunbathe.
Evening entertainment is for Spanish guests. We never stayed at hotel for entertainment as it was only ten minutes walk to get to busy night life where we could take our daughter too. It would be good if more facilities were available for children. The only thing there is, is one table tennis table and one pool table that was out of order the whole week we were there. There are two computers for internet access. That passed the time for our daughter at a small cost.
