Myself, my husband and two year old son stayed at the hotel America in July 2007. From the moment we arrived we couldn't believe we'd paid to stay there.

The staff are so unfriendly like it's too much hard work for them (probably because its an all inclusive hotel and they wouldn't get tipped).

Would rather have had a week in Skegness. The hotel looks like its in the 80s and smells. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Me, my husband and children stopped there in 2006. We couldn't ask for any more. Everything was there you needed. We are hoping to come back again. Just before we came, some friends were there before us. When we got home, we spoke to these friends about the hotel and they thought the same as us. At this moment there are another lot of friends of ours there as we recommended the hotel to them. Thank you to all of you at the America for a great time.

A good, clean family hotel close to all amenities. The hotel has been recently refurbished and the standard is very good. Rooms were clean and all had a sea view. Staff very helpful and polite. Several places on site to eat ranging from an a la carte restaurant to a barbeque. The entertainment team worked hard to get adults involved with water polo, darts etc and put on a show every other night. On the other nights there were professional entertainers. There were children's entertainers who kept them busy during the day and a children's disco every night.

Resort was good. There was plenty for younger children and there was some top class entertainment for adults (try Rock Cola). Discos seemed lacking but can't say I looked. Good bus service, you seem to be able to get anywhere.
