We've stayed at the Europa for the last couple of years and it's great. Clean and spacious rooms, very friendly staff (all English speaking, if that's what you care about).
Nice pool, hardly ever busy, so great to go for a swim in the morning.
The bar can be loud, but there isn't entertainment on every night and I've found if you're not up for the sound of the Blanes' night life, the staff will easily move your room.
And yes, the main door to the complex is open all night as the apartments aren't just used for tourists, they are owned by local Catalan people. You have a main door on your building which has a security system though, although security and feeling not safe has never been an issue here.
If you want somewhere cheap and cheerful, go to the Europa.
Happy holidays.

"Europa"

Worst place I have ever stayed. I travelled there with my husband and grandson and would never ever go back. If you have children and want a good holiday, please, please don't go to the Europa.
It was full of drunks, there was fighting in the corridors and glasses being smashed. We had to put chairs behind the door for security. The bar on the complex serves until the early hours and the music is so loud it is unbearable and we had to move out.
It was disgusting. The pool was filthy, the security was a joke as the main door was propped open all night.
Please don't risk going there, it is awful. We moved out and found a lovely hotel in Blanes.

The Europa Apartments are very clean, tidy and well looked after apartments. The staff are very friendly and can understand English very well.
We got moved from Tossa Park Apartments in Tossa de Mar as the living conditions were a disgrace. There was dirt, cockroaches and everything but when we moved to the Europa, I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleased with what I saw.
There was a pool that was cleaned out regularly, sparkling rooms, excellent food and bar and such politeness and helpfulness from the staff.
Blanes is a very nice place as well as long as you like clubs and things or have teenage kids!
