The Papagayo Arena is divided into nine buildings, each with its individual name reflecting different interior design styles and varying ambiances. The central building is called 'Papagayo Azul' and within it is the 'Blue Village' area with different restaurants, bars and shops. The buffet restaurant offers show cooking, there is the pizza restaurant 'Veneto', restaurant grill in the pool area, 'Pon Hai Tau' oriental restaurant and the 'Maison Jaune' French restaurant which is à la carte and requires prior booking. The hotel also offers five swimming pools, of which three are for adults and two are for children (two are also heated in the winter season) a tennis court, multi surface court, gym, beauty centre, hairdresser, television room, massage parlours, two Finnish saunas, Turkish bath, sun terraces and three jacuzzis. Other facilities on offer for the holidaymaker are a children's area that includes an internal area, with mini-club area for children from four to 12 years. Children's activities are carried out and managed during the day. The children's programme ends with a mini-disco in the evening.

Accommodation at the Papagayo Arena is in 488 bedrooms, all equipped with a bathroom, safety deposit box (at an extra charge), hair dryer, satellite television, telephone, air conditioning, mini-bar (on request and with an extra charge) and terrace or balcony. Most rooms have a sea view. Eight rooms are adapted for disabled persons and single rooms are a double room for single use. Junior suites offer a bedroom plus two sofa beds, one double and another single. The majority of junior suites have a bathroom with hydro massage and a separate shower.
