The three star Playamaro Aparthotel is located on the eastern side of the Costa del Sol, next to the Maro cliffs and its beaches. The famous Nerja caves are located just metres from the hotel. Situated in the area of Maro, the hotel is just 900 metres away from the Maro beach and one kilometre from the centre of Nerja.

The Playamaro is built in Andalucian style, in fitting with the surrounding environment. The main building was constructed in 1988 and has recently (2003-4) undergone complete refurbishment. The hotel features a roof-top sun terrace with sea and mountain views including the cliffs and old watch tower. It has a swimming pool, sauna, café-bar and restaurant. The restaurant offers a varied menu and has an Andalucian style terrace open all year.

The Playamaro has 23 apartments sleeping either two or four people. The annex building was finished in 1998, also built in Andalucian style and offering 14 double rooms and two single rooms. Both single and double rooms have air-conditioning, central heating, bathroom, hair dryer, telephone, satellite television, piped music and balcony. The one and two bedroom apartments in the main building all have a bathroom, satellite television, telephone, piped music, as well as air-conditioning and central heating in the lounge. Certain apartments also have sea views.
