After reading many bad reviews about the Reymar Playa Hotel, myself and my friend arrived there hours before we were meant to check in! However, we were allowed to check in early and the staff were great.
Our room was very basic. It was OK, clean and the bathroom was very nice. Our toilet did break once, however, I went down to tell the staff and five minutes later someone was at our room to fix it. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels left.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The evening entertainment was good. The hotel is in a great location ten minutes walk from the train to take you to Barcelona and it is really cheap too - 6.40 euros return! Also close to the high street!
I paid £55 for five nights and I say money well spent!
The restaurants there are also great. Cheap as chips. The 'Robin Hood' bar and the 'Rovers Return' bar are great - great dinner and great people - can't fault a Sunday roast! Yum!
However, a warning when going in to Barcelona for a day - buy a money belt and take no bags. Pick pockets every where. I saw it happen on the train and they will take anything!

"Value For Money"

It was not until shortly before our holiday date that we found reviews for the Reymar Playa hotel on the internet and none of them were good so we dreaded the holiday but on our arrival we were pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The meals, which had been one of our main concerns, were very good with several choices for every meal. The hotel was situated in close proximity to all amenities and we would go again.

"Reymar Playa Hotel Food Rubbish"
Travel date:

We have just come back from the Reymar Playa and the food was disgusting. Did not cater for the English at all. We paid for half board and only went in their restaurant twice and ended up eating out, mainly at the 'New Crown' and 'Anchor' which was the best place there.
You could not fault the hotel for cleanliness, that was spot on, but would not recommend it for the food if you are English.
The pool was OK but was very cramped with not enough sunbeds but too many table and chairs.
will not return

Good points first! Reception staff, location, swimming pool not bad.
Now the bad! The food was absolutely disgusting. A lot of our holiday money went on eating out. The beds were cheap, nasty put me ups with cheap mattresses! A room for three was a room for two with an extra bed but not a wardroom for three! I had to live out of my suitcase for two weeks.
There is nothing for children except for the pool. I got the impression that the English were not made welcome.

"Poor Quality Food"

The whole dining experience was a total nightmare. The ignorance of most of the staff in the dining room, as well as the appalling stuff they had the ghoul to call Spanish cuisine left us feeling quite depressed when it came to meal times.
The reception staff were second to none and helped us out on many occasions.

Many good points - entertainment, reception staff, central location - all overshadowed by the food which is the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. Very poor quality and undercooked. Most people ate out. The leftover food, of which there is plenty, re-appears disguised as something else the next day. No exaggeration.

Der Service und das Essen und die Sauberkeit waren das Allerletzte. (The service, the food and the cleanliness took the biscuit).
