Was a good hotel. It was clean, new towels everyday and all the staff were friendly and had no problem with them. Food was great - good chef. The hotel was always lively.
There are some bad reviews but it was great when I was there. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the balconies were also cleaned so it's a very clean place. It's got the computers and all that there. Pool was great and it's just a five minute walk from Magaluf and 'Banana Joe's'. Would recommend you go there if you are young. All in all, the Don Bigote is a great hotel. I am going back there next year and I'll write another review and see how it's changed.

"Don Bigote Hotel, Not Bad At All"

We have stayed at the Don Bigote Hotel the last three times we have been to Palma Nova. It is kept very clean and the staff are very friendly. It is in need of an update but that adds to it's charm.
The food is better than most three-four star hotels I have stayed in. Can't fault the meals at all. Plenty of choice and the standard is very high indeed. Located minutes from the beach, shops and bars (find 'Olas' bar if you can) and it is well within reach of everything you need.
The hotel provides entertainment most nights, from bingo,to karaoke, to professional shows. The only draw-back is that there are no toilets in the lounge (you have to go to the main reception).
Basic but very reasonable, with very good food and friendly staff. Not a bad 'starter for ten'.

When we got to the Don Bigote, the air conditioning did not work, which we needed as there were four people in one room. We got told that it was a hotel for people who are going clubbing and wanting a lively hotel. Apparently no children were allowed to book in, but there were a lot of families and yet we got told to be quiet when we came in. It states in the Sunset book that this is a lively hotel.
Food was OK. A lot of the staff at the hotel were very rude. Would not recommend anyone to go here if they are wanting to go with friends. Wouldn't even recommend for families as the hotel was basic - nothing at all there for children!
Banana Joes was good though.

I am due to go to Palma Nova on the 17th July 2006 with three of my friends. This hotel comes highly recommended! One of the girls I'm going with has already been (four times and she refuses to stay anywhere else!). She said the hotel was great, food was great and the staff were great - the fit lifeguard in particular!
it seems if your young (or old and think your young!) you will love this hotel and the people it keeps!! :)
I am definetly looking forward to my holiday and will give you my 'review' after iv come back and sobered up :)

The hotel is the perfect place to stay in My or October if you want a really good holiday, a little taken over the rest of the year by 18-30 and stag and hen parties, but they are not that bad. The food is very good, rooms are clean and fresh towels every day. Staff are very friendly and helpful, bar prices are very good for a hotel and snacks very well priced and made fresh. The hotel's position is excellent. You would expect to pay much more. We will be back in October 2007, can't wait? Wonderful pool area, kept nice and clean. See you all again soon.

"Don Bigote - Basic Hotel"
Travel date:

Before I booked this hotel, I checked all of the reviews on this web site. Sounded good. Got there to be put in top floor room. After getting over the shock of the brown water coming out of the wash basin, air con non existent - on but nothing coming out, room very small and could do with a good lick of paint (stains all over the walls and ceiling) not the best of bedding, then to be woken up by the air con on the roof just above us at 6.00 a.m., managed to get room changed no problem - did not even ask why.
Had breakfast also very basic. Had upgraded to full board but only ate there three times. Not up to my standard, but did not cost me much for upgrade so was not too bothered. You learn by your mistakes.
Noises all night long from staircase and people coming in all hours not a problem, but beware! Came home four days early. Staff very friendly, but don't always go off what you read in reviews. I was taken in and paid the price of a wasted holiday.

"Good And Bad"

The Hotel Don Bigote was in a good location just round the corner from ‘Banana Joes', which is a great pub and it's just five minutes in a taxi to Magaluf.
The hotel was basic and the food was horrible, but met loads of great people at the hotel! Was full of Scots and young people. I would say it was quite a lively hotel and was a great laugh, although nearly every one was not well with the air conditioning, so if you're going here, keep it switched off! But other than that it's a good, young hotel!

The hotel was fantastic. Me and my mate went away with her parents for my 16th. It's a great place to go.
Banana Joes was the best place. The DJ, Gary, was fantastic and his fiancée Charlie too.
We would like to come back here as it was fantastic. See you all soon love and best wishes for Charlie and Gary.

Have just returned from a weeks stay and our party was very pleased with the food and cleanliness of the accommodation. We also found the staff very helpful and friendly.
The only downside was the presence of some 18-30s but I think these figures applied to their I.Q. and not their age group. If the hotel got rid of the louts as soon as they annoy normal people, it would qualify for four stars no problem.

This was a lovely hotel and the food was excellent. It was all really clean and being young myself, it was good as it was full of young people. The only fault was when you were trying to sleep at five in the morning the 18-30 were really noisy, but I found out from another person in the hotel that if you make a complaint staff are excellent and deal with it straight away. All in I had an excellent holiday.

Hotel was OK - just the young people that were there(18-30s) and allowed to do whatever they wanted to and made other holiday makers life hell. I would not go back here unless it was less unruly. It is a shame as it is in an ideal position.

What a great hotel. The staff were brilliant. We went there on our study visit with the college. What a great week.
I would recommend Banana Joe's. What a great night out dancing on the bars and free booze. Can't wait to go back.

The hotel is in a great location but is a shame with the age limits. We were told it was a family hotel when we booked and on arrival were DISGUSTED! The 18 - 30 aged guests were shouting until 5.30am - drunk! You were welcomed by sick from the night before all over the stairs in the morning. It ruined our holiday and even though we are returning to Palma in July we are not going to the Don Bigote Hotel.
By the way the rooms are all the same with three beds in a room with enough space to fit two beds. The room comes with a tiny bathroom and small balcony.
The Thomas Cook rep told us they had had many complaints with guests who made the same mistake. If you have that problem, pop over to the Aqua Sol Hotel opposite for great entertainment, pool and food.
