"We Are Coming Back"
Travel date:
October 2006
We were so happy with our holiday at Cambrils Princess that we booked to go again this year whilst we were still there! We had a lovely room, the food was good, the staff were friendly and the evening entertainment was brilliant!
We were not bothered by train or road noises(of which we read in previous reviews). We walked for miles in the day and then cooled off in the pretty pool with a drink or two.
Personally we could not fault the holiday at all. Roll on October - we will be back!

"Not Quite A 4 Star Hotel"
Travel date:
July 2006
After reading some of the reviews of Cambrils Princess of holidays taken there last year, we were beginning to wonder if we had done the right thing, because they were not all good. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are quite basic for a four star but spotless overall.
The food was hit and miss, a lot of choice at breakfast, but food often cold. Dinner was sometimes a bit rushed, but we found if we went around 7.30 p.m. it was ok. Between 8.00 – 9.00 p.m. there were often queues. The same applied for breakfast; 8.00 - 8.30 a.m. was fine, after 9.00 a.m. and it was chaotic. The food in the evening was very samey each night: veal, pork, lamb, vegetables and potatoes quite poor and not a lot of choice for children. Desserts were nice though. Waiters kept very busy through the dining time and after in the outside bar.
Entertainment was OK. Geared mainly to the Spanish as a lot of the Spanish take their holidays at this hotel (and we had gone just as the Spanish school holidays started) so it was very busy. Spanish, Mexican, Brazilian dancers, a man and his performing parrots, acrobats, singers (nearly all songs in Spanish).
Pool side was busy during day. People tend to put out sun loungers and towels about 9.00 a.m. in 'their' spot. Parasols quite scarce, only about 50. Lifeguard on duty and he did do his job.
Cambrils is very nice. We went on the organised trip 'Barcelona Flavours' - excellent but very tiring. We set off at 8.20 a.m. and got back around 7.00 p.m. This trip, I would think, is not quite for small children. We went to Tarragon on the bus – excellent.
After hearing people talk about hotels I and many would not grade this a four star, only a three star.

"Cambrils Princess Hotel"
Travel date:
June 2006
Just back from the hotel and missing it. I thought it was a great place to go. We had a gorgeous pool/beach view which was exactly what we wanted. I thought the staff were very hard working. The cleaners did a fantastic job of the rooms, cleaned everyday with fresh towels.
The downside was that the entertainment was aimed at Spanish people, which was a let down as it was difficult to understand what was going on. The children's entertainment was for Spanish children and kids from the UK/Ireland would not understand what was going on.
The hotel would have got ten out of ten if the entertainment had been aimed at all their guests and not just the Spanish ones. Also, the children's entertainment should be for all the children at the hotel.
I enjoyed the food but did not like the fish being cooked in the dining hall as it was not a nice smell.
I will definitely return to Cambrils Princess as I had an excellent time here, even if the entertainment let us down a little. (Ages - 47,43,23,20,18,17 & 4)

I think it was very good holiday but there was no entertainment for the Irish and camp beds should not be used for children. Food was good, very good entertainment for the day but noise off the train was very bad at night time.
