"A Lovely Winter Break"
Travel date:
January 2009
We stayed at the Villa Florida in January 2009 for one week. After reading previous reviews, we were a little nervous as to what our stay would be like.
We stayed in apartment 143 which was lovely and spacious and clean. The towels and bedding were changed on a regular basis and the room cleaned every day.
The complex itself was small but lovely. We couldn't have asked for more friendly staff in 'The Red Lion' - they made us all feel welcome, especially my four year old.
Eating out was expensive but we chose to eat at 'Fado Steakhouse' five out of seven nights. Would highly recommend it as the food and service were excellent. And for breakfast we went to the 60's bar in the town centre which was lovely.
The resort itself is ideal for families with young children with a park outside our apartments and one in the town centre. The beach is lovely but we found the beach ten minutes walk away is slightly better, plus there's a 'McDonalds' there too.
We will be returning to Villa Florida next January but for two weeks. Highly recommend this accommodation and resort.

"A Lovely Winter Break!"
Travel date:
January 2009
We have just returned from a lovely winter break at the Villa Florida apartments. I was a little concerned before we arrived, having read previous reviews but was pleasantly surprised.
The apartments were spacious and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The 'Red Lion' bar, which is on site, was staffed by a lovely family who made us all feel very welcome, especially my three year old son. The entertainment was varied - 'Elvis' was good!
We will be returning next January. We would recommend these apartments to friends and family as they are very central to the lovely resturants especially 'Fado Steakhouse' and to the beach, which is lovely. But I would recommend the beach about a ten minute walk away as it's even better.

"Great Cheap Stay"
Travel date:
August 2006
Pleasant enough room, had everything you'd need but you're better off being an oompah-loompah if you want a bath - it's more of an oversized shower base, with sides. Our room overlooked the bar and was therefore very noisy, until gone 11 o'clock every night. Most nights not a problem but if you wanted to sleep - no chance!
The 'entertainment' was interesting in a bemusing way. I've not heard anything like it since, well, never! Not in a hurry to hear it again!
Perfect location for everything, easy walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Great and extremely cheap internet cafe directly outside, kind of attached to the Chinese restaurant and very handy. Nice, friendly chap, too.
Found the beach far cooler than the pool area - much less sweaty thanks to the breeze. And no, it doesn't whip up the sand that much.
Try 'Pizza and Gelato' in the new shopping centre, great value for money - try the Stracialtella flavour it has massive 'icebergs' of chocolate in it - yummy! Will be back in Caleta (but not the Villa Florida) in August 2007 - it's now better than Corralejo!

"Great Location"
Travel date:
May 2006
When we stayed at Villa Florida Apartments, we took our two year old son. The apartment is in a great location with a play area just across the road. The main shops and the beach are just five minutes away with a variety of shops you will be in and out of, browsing for the best bargains. The area is very clean and all the people are very friendly.
The apartments bar is very welcoming and run by an English couple. The beer prices are reasonable. There is also entertainment around the pool in the day with a quiz and cash bingo daily and some entertainment at night.
The rooms are average size but don't show the kids the buzzer on the outside door! The apartments are very close to all the best restaurants and take outs, which we tried and all were just as good as the others. Very reasonable prices with generous portions. I would definitely return to Villa Florida in the future.
