The Gran La Hacienda Hotel is a really great hotel. Staff very helpful in all areas (front desk, cleaning rooms and in the restaurant). Rooms and hotel very clean. Pool area excellent and entertainment very good.

First things first, the hotel is clean and tidy with maid service everyday. Reception friendly and helpful. As you enter the lobby, it is very impressive but the rooms are quite basic.

We had two adults, a 12 year old, four year old and baby. We had two large beds put together for all of us. Cot cost 100 euros extra but very little space to put it.

We went all inclusive so everything was supposed to be paid for - this was not the case. After a day or so we discovered that we were very limited as to what we could have. I've been all inclusive before and I never had this problem. We thought that we had paid for everything well within reason - we were not looking for champagne or stuff like that. The restaurant has a good selection of food but between the main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), the hut served a large snack menu but we were told that we could only have chips, burger and cheese/ham toastie and that was it. I couldn't believe it. The staff also had a way of making you feel that they were paying for what you ate and drank which made me feel very uncomfortable. After dinner was over, there was always a very long queue to the bar. Everyone had something to say about that.

We went for two weeks and it was too long. The queues were a joke and there was no entertainment apart from a little kids' disco that lasted about an hour. Everyone was in bed by 12. I mean, the hotel was so quiet at 11.30, too quiet for us. I would have liked more entertainment for kids and us. I would not go back to the Gran La Hacienda, thank you.

The hotel is attractive and modern with a reasonably sized pool and superb buffet and bar. The rooms are comfortable with large beds and a balcony, the buffet is excellent with a wide variety of cold and hot food and the hotel is kept very clean and tidy. There are lots of activities on offer throughout the day too.

Port Aventura is nearby and can be seen from the hotel. The local buses can get you there in 30 minutes doing a very round trip but by taxi, you can get there in around five to ten minutes.

The large beach is just down the high street and there are many places to eat and drink in the town.
