We were expecting the worst after reading reviews and a friend who lives locally (in Spain), told us about it. Transfers arranged by Thomas Cook were really overpriced.

Arrived at the hotel. It was clean with good service and friendly staff. Room pretty basic but not in it long enough to bother. Wide variety of food but repeated. Snacks available between meals.

Close to plenty of places but would recommend using taxi not bus as driver does not give change if you are English! Taxi works out cheaper - e.g. bus to Salou for four people was ten euros but a taxi return was less than seven euros.

Read a lot about noise but to be honest, even though the hotel was full, the most noise we heard was from another hotel!

Pool was lovely. When local friends visited, they were impressed after all they had heard and the boys loved the food! Would definitely go again to the H. Top Molinos Park.

Review title: "H. Top Molinos Park Should Be Pulled Down"
Travel date: October 2008
The H. Top Molinos Park hotel in not in Salou, it is in Cap Salou, for most a ten to 15 walk away or you need a bus as it's hilly. The beach is more than four minutes away and that is down a very steep hill. Agreed, very late season but entertainment had no mini club for children and very little for adults during the day or night - bingo and quiz night. The TV only had one UK channel working - Euro sport (it that what the English and children want?).

The room we had was dirty. The bathroom door was water damaged badly, the air con only worked if they put it on and then it was only cold air. We had to ask for bedding. The walls between the rooms are very thin and you can hear every sound from either side.

The area is very hilly, very few shops and only a few bars.
The food in all cases was both cold like meats, eggs, burgers and beans etc and the day before's left overs. We did complain about this and were shown the microwave. Even the salt and pepper pots were dirty. Some plates and cutlery had to be picked with care or cleaned. The staff did not seem to care and showed it with their manner and made no effort to look interested in our problems.

My mistake was not looking at the reviews before I went. We had an early flight home so as we had already paid for it, we asked what would be there and were told no staff and no food? There were about ten of us who left with no food (poor is better than nothing) - not even a cup of tea. All in all, 'Fawlty Towers' would have been better. Every one we spoke to said they would be complaining about the hotel. Read and be aware.

Review title: "This Is Hell's Hotel "
Travel date: October 2008
The H. Top Molinos Park hotel is a hell's hotel. I have just come back from there on 15/10/08 with my partner, son, my cousin and his daughter. Never again. Very rowdy parties there and noise levels ridiculous until 5 a.m.ish. Sticky floors all over, rooms riddled with ants and very small rooms in all. Not enough room for us and the ants and the food was terrible.

They did sometimes put different options on but a lot of it I wouldn't feed my dog. Drinks were flat all the time and a lot of the staff didn't understand English or speak it. Some friendly staff there, although a few visits from the police in the hotel with other guests.

The entertainment was rubbish. Come back Rainbow, all is forgiven as it was better than this. While there my partner was on a chair in the dining room having our tea and the chair collapsed. Staff didn't care apart from one girl who was English working there. Made a complaint about it even though I know nothing will be done. All in all, I'd really give this hotel a minus ten out of one to ten so don't do it.

Review title: "Thin Walls But Friendly Ants!"
Travel date: October 2008
Reading the reviews, it seems most people expect one of the cheapest hotels in Cap Salou to also offer five star quality. Unsurprisingly, it does not. If you want that, then how about paying out for a better hotel?

The H. Top Molinos Park hotel caters for the 'all-inclusive' crowd. If you don't want to go all-inclusive, then do not stay here! If you actually have to pay for your drinks in the hotel, they don't know what to do and you get the same watered-down tiny measures as the all-inclusive people. Case in point: two vodka and cokes (made with Panda cola and alleged 'vodka' which at best was 20% by volume) cost us over nine euros! Bottles of Estrella cost 1.70 euros, which is an excellent price - but stopping here without being all-inclusive will cause you huge problems.

Food: The food is hit and miss. There is a large selection, and if you're prepared to brave new dishes, then you won't be disappointed. There are always chips to fill your plate up and to be fair, they are quite nice, but it really is shocking to see Brits eat nothing else! Breakfast is OK for continental style stuff and there is always a fried breakfast available but you may not like the Spanish bacon. Luckily for the Brits, there are even chips served at breakfast.

Staff: Most staff speak far better English than the guests, but sometimes strange requests will flummox them. A couple of them are a bit moody, but I'm entirely sure that's because of the way they are treated by the guests. If you try smiling and being mildly nice to them, they are fine. How about even learning a few key Spanish phrases before you go to Spain? It works wonders.

Location: We made a mistake. Being in Cap Salou, I thought the local bars would all be Spanish. They all cater for the English crowd, so expect egg and chips and karaoke and miserable faces everywhere. Not quite as miserable as the faces sat around the hotel pool all day drinking, but close. There are several great beaches within a few minutes walk and there are stunning views from the hotel and surrounding area which take in Salou, Cambrils, the ocean and the graceful mountains always in the background. The countryside around there is beautiful and well worth booking the jeep ride to see. Salou centre is a ten minute bus ride (1.75 euros) or you can walk along the coastal path and be there in 15 minutes. You'll be wanting to do this as often as possible to get away from the Costa del Warrington.

Overall, the hotel would be fine apart from one really major let-down: The walls really are too thin. You can hear everything from people using the toilet to kids screaming and stomping around. I'm very tolerant because you're always going to get 'people noise', but this came close to ruining our holiday. The highlight was someone snoring loudly, but this was topped by someone running off crying to his dad and spending three hours shouting so loudly that it literally woke half of the hotel up - who then started singing, shouting and fighting about it.

I think the hotel should be two star at best. Simply because of the walls.

Maid service is excellent for a cheap hotel with towels changed daily and beds made. Being out of the way, there is an ant problem, but it's not too bad but be warned if you leave sweets or glasses of coke lying around you will be infested by the little blighters! Take care and they're not a problem - they won't bite!

In short, this is a good hotel totally ruined by the thin walls and the cheap all-inclusive crowd which it attracts. I would send my worst enemy there - but only because I'm a very mean and nasty person to my enemies.

Unless you expect your Spanish holiday to be exactly like Saturday night in Salford, you should steer well clear of this place. My advice is to stop closer to Salou in a place with walls that aren't made of cardboard. It will be worth the extra money.

Hotel a laugh. Checked in to hotel, given room and asked for a change. Over the air conditioning mould was growing and I do mean mould - hairy type mould. Plaster over wardrobe damaged and about to fall if wardrobe door closed. Took pictures of room, showed manager the pictures and they didn't believe me until they came and saw themselves. Moved us to another room which was slightly better.

Food bland tasting, not much variety and the same every day. Beer was lousy, no life in it. Noise from other guests staying was rowdy, although nothing to do with hotel. Security should have done something. They were too busy stopping people getting free drinks after midnight.

All in all, I need another holiday to get over this one. Definitely won't stay at the at H. Top Molinos Park hotel again.

Was our first visit to Salou and went on an all inclusive basis on a budget. Unfortunately it appears that a lot of unsociable people visit this hotel. I feel sorry for the staff that have to endure some of the behaviour that I saw.

The food was edible at best, the bar staff were 'doing a job' and the building is very dated.

I like Salou and am going back next week but not to the H. Top Molinos Park. My advice - spend a little more on a better hotel.

Travel date: September 2008
After reading the reviews, I was absolutely dreading going to this hotel but as soon as we arrived I was pleasantly surprised!

The reception staff dealt with us straight away, they cleaned our room and sheets everyday and the bar staff were very friendly! There are two pool tables, air hockey and a child's pool but apart from that not much else to do. The entertainment staff 'Chico' is very friendly - always does a mini disco for kids, a parrot show and singer etc.

The food is very bland! I mostly lived on chicken, chips and bread and my little girl had fruit! There is a lot of choice of fruits, cereals, breads, salads (all fresh) but as you're in Spain, the food is very different anyway!

There is a bus just down the road that you can catch into main Salou for about one euro 50 which is fair. It only takes about ten minutes and Salou is great - good long stretch of beach and lots of shops!

The one thing to do is visit PortAventura park which you can also catch a bus to from this hotel. Buy the tickets in England and you will need about three days to cover the park.

Also, don't book your transfers. It's cheaper to get the bus straight from the Reus airport.

P.S. Don't listen to the people who are slating the H. Top Molinos Park hotel. You pay for three star and that's what you get!

Don´t do it. Stay somewhere else. The H. Top Molinos Park hotel is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Noisy, smelly, air con doesn't work and nothing for the kids to do.

Food is OK if you will try different things, which is why it's getting three out of ten and not zero. You get locked out of the patio until 10 a.m. so must hang around until you're allowed out in the mornings. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Just awful. You have been warned.

I have just read all these reviews and I did not think I was reading about the same hotel. We stayed there the first two weeks in August and did not find anything wrong. I was with three teenagers of 17+ and we had a nice time.

The only thing that was on the downside was we were overlooking the entrance to the kitchens downstairs. This was nothing major and I enjoyed feeding the cat! The entertainment was a bit naff but you get used to that and laugh about it. The bar staff were brilliant and got used to what you drink and the roof terrace was really peaceful - sometimes the only noise was the barman whistling and he even brought drinks to your sun bed. How's that for service?

The reason I was looking at these reviews was I am looking at going again this year but with my husband instead.

When I first booked this holiday, I was so happy to be going as it was my first time away with my boyfriend - until I got to the airport and some miserable woman told me this time of year it would be raining every day! So I was not happy!

We arrived in Salou late at night around 10ish. The minute we got off the plane, we could feel the heat. It was beautiful. The first days were cloudy and we were both a bit anxious as to if it was going to stay like this, but in Salou, you find the sun seems to come out in early afternoon and stay until 6-7ish, so we loved it. The beach around there was lovely but other little parts were a bit dirty.

The hotel - we had no problems with our rooms apart from ants. There were millions if we left some clothes or drink on the floor, so the easy way to not let them appear is just keep your stuff off the floor. We did not find that we heard everything through the walls and who cares, you don't come on holiday to sleep!

The food was basic and you wouldn't find the food was too spanish for you because it's basic English food such as pizza, pasta and salad - which is what you want on a holiday! They are very generous with the drinks. A night there getting drunk would cost you well over £100 over in England drinking the amounts they gave!

Hotel entertainment is really for the kids but they had a lovely singer on there and she was really fun, so everyone enjoyed her! There are a lot of local pubs, clubs and shops to explore once getting the bus to Salou, but this does not take long and it definitely isn't expensive.

I would definately go back to the H. Top Molinos Park but maybe a month earlier so we would get the sunny days everyday as there were two days of horrible rain.

I have been recently and I had no problems!

This is not a place you want to be on holiday in. We went all inclusive and that's what we got - all the rubbish you could get from a hotel and staff that didn't care a hoot.
We read all the reviews before we went and should have taken notice. Unfortunately we didn't.

Staff were rude, rooms were dirty, beds could have been park benches but benches would have been softer,

We paid over £2,000 for six of us for a week. OK, food and drink were on tap but that's useless if everything else is below average. Whilst there, the local police were called 3 times for noise and drunkenness.

We are still in communication with our travel company for part refund. We had our bags and personal belongings gone through but luckily only a few bits of loose change was taken. After telling the management this, their answer was 'will look into it'. Did they? No!

So my advice is, if the H. Top Molinos Park hotel is still doing holidays next year, don't go there. Salou was great though.

Review title: "Most Expensive All Inclusive I Have Ever Stayed"
Travel date: June 2008
The food here is fantastic if you don't eat at the hotel. If you like chips, pasta and salad at every meal then you will be OK. I stayed here with my husband and five children ranging from eight up to 17. All in all it cost us an extra £1000.00 to feed us all as the food was diabolical.

The 'Smugglers' Inn' nearby does a fantastic evening meal with a good variety to choose from on the menu and for breakfast the 'Paddock' is absolutely fantastic. The best breakfast I have ever had anywhere in the world.

The rooms are very basic and we had two rooms, one with three beds and one with four beds crammed into a space that should really be for two, but as we didn't spend much time in the rooms, then that's fine. We could live with that.

The bar staff are all friendly and they work really hard - not stopping much throughout the day. The only quibble with the bar was the stupid plastic cups they served the drinks in. I felt six years old every time I had a drink, but I can see why they do this. Safety I suppose.

The pool is lovely. No complaints there.

The entertainment was not fantastic either. Very minimal. The entertainment lad tried very hard but we got a little fed up of him shouting top notes all the time and playing the 'Choo Chi, Wa Waa' song about four times an hour.

We never saw any violence within the hotel like other reviews said. We only saw one big fight and that was at the hotel over the road. Not pleasant, I have to say.

People have said on other reviews that this is a cheap hotel but I must say my holiday cost me £2500.00. Not cheap at all for a week's stay, although I do believe that you can get really cheap deals to this hotel sometimes.

The beaches are lovely and it is an ideal location for everything. Ten minutes into La Pineda and 20 minutes into Salou. Bus stop right outside the hotel and also the train stop as well. Train much more expensive than the bus but the train is fun and the kids loved it.

We went to Aquapolis, the water park in La Pineda and it was excellent. They have a sea lion and dolphin show that you can watch and its all included in the entry fee. 23 euros for adults and 17.50 for kids under 11. Well worth the money just to watch the dolphins. They were brilliant. You could even swim with the sea lions, at a cost of 45 euros though.

All I can say is that if you are fussy with your food, then Molinos Park isn't for you. Like I said earlier, most expensive all inclusive I have ever stayed at.

This has got to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We feel sorry for some of the staff that have to work there.

The food was boring - the same every day - morning, noon and night including the so called snacks.

The brochure states no all same sex group bookings accepted - what a joke - there were two groups of males one of 30 and one of 23 people also two or three groups of females. This hotel should either be 18-30 style or family. It is not fair for families to have to put up with loud lairy groups at three, four or five in the morning. We never had a good night's sleep in the week we were there. The only sleep we got was on the beach.

We will never go again and will never recommend this the H. Top Molinos Park so called hotel to even our worst enemy. If you read these reviews and think a holiday is what you make it, that's what we thought. How wrong we were! Never, ever again!

We were expecting this hotel to be disgusting after reading all the reviews. However, the reception area was spotless with no funny smells. The bar staff were always very helpful and friendly.

On our first day, we did notice a funny smell, like sewage, in our three rooms. We immediately complained to the manager and he moved us into new rooms on a different floor. The problem was sorted as soon as we complained and we had nothing else to worry about the rest of the holiday.

The H. Top Molinos Park is in a great location as there is a private beach just round the corner and it's in a quieter area than central Salou.

The menu was always changed on each day and the melon and desserts are to die for. There aren't just always chips either - there is pasta and potatoes on offer.

I would recommend this hotel to other people, especially my age group, 18-25, as it's cheap and cheerful. The hot tub is amazing! No kids allowed. Very relaxing.

I had no sleep all week as there were stag dos and children running riot up till 5 a.m.! The police were at the hotel most nights and the one and only the security guard was beaten up!

Me, my boyfriend and my parents rarely ventured to the bar as no entertainment, big queues and intimidatings guest who have no thought for others.

First day I arrived I wanted to leave and will never be going back! Paying all inclusive was a waste of money because I did not want to be in the hotel at all, let alone for the evenings.

The only good thing is the food which I loved. Congratulations to the chef!

Salou itself is wicked - lots of pubs and restaurants, but to be honest, I feel the tourist aspect is diminishing as it was always dead everywhere we went!

Walls are paper thin in the bedrooms but cleaned everyday which was OK, if you're not fussy! The rooms are very basic though!

We stayed here in April 2008. Overall hotel not too bad if you want free everything. Found staff generally OK with the odd one not interested. That's the good news. Now the rubbish bits.

Food was good but most of the time it was luke warm and a few people complained about this. The rooms are basic, cleaned every day but I would advise that you pay for a key to the safe in your room as we noticed our suitcases might have been tampered with. The walls in the room were paper thin so if you want a decent nights sleep forget it.

The best thing about the H. Top Molinos Park hotel is that all the food and drinks are on tap, if you go all inclusive.

The reason we enjoyed our holiday was that we hired a car to get away and explore Salou and the rest of the Costa.

One thing I don't advise is asking for free food at the bar after 12 p.m. because all you will get is two slices of bread and a piece Spanish meat in the middle

If you have booked a holiday to salou and this is the hotel you have been allocated, try to change it. Overall we had a good holiday because we worked with it.

This hotel was fab! Well, fab for what you pay for.

I need to stress this point so much. All the complaints I have read are somewhat true but you have to remember that it's a cheap hotel. If people want a perfect hotel then there are a few five star hotels in Salou.

Food is good if you are not a fussy eater. I admit some waitresses are not that friendly but people should treat them as they treat you! The area where you eat is always clean.

Bar staff - these guys are great. They have a laugh with you and are very friendly. They even came on a night out with me and my friends. They stay in the hotel as well so they walked us or got a taxi with us back to the hotel, then we would sit down stairs with them and have another few drinks before saying night and off to bed.

Pool area - I agree with the mess of the hotel's pool. It is bad but whose fault is that? Yes, the visitors to the hotel. Its not hard to pop litter in the bin (the bar staff are not cleaners) as for the fag ends, well there are plenty of ashtrays that should be used. Then we wouldn't have this problem.

Rooms - well, they are meant for two people unless you have a small child and then an extra bed is moved into the room! The rooms are clean and don't smell of sick - it's Spanish polish! It doesn't smell like back in the UK does it!

Well, overall the H. Top Molinos Park hotel is grand for a three star hotel, especially for the money you pay for it.

I'm going back in July for my birthday and will continue visiting!

Very disappointed with this hotel. The rooms were small and very stuffy. Overlooking apartments across the road and no net curtains at windows. The walls were paper thin so everything could be heard from the corridor and neighbouring rooms. The public rooms were dirty, especially outside the restaurant where there was very often discarded food. It was impossible to sit in the bar in the evening as the entertainment was so loud. The pool area was always littered with straws, cups and cigarette ends. More ashtrays provided would have been a help. There were no mattresses for the sunbeds so was most uncomfortable to sunbathe. The best thing about this hotel was the food.

I would rate the Molinos Park a two star and I certainly will not be staying at another H Top hotel.

Review title: "Hotel From Hell"
Travel date: October 2007
This hell hole has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. On arrival our room hadn't been properly cleaned with the dust on furniture about three inches thick. I was promised that a cleaner would be back to clean it that day. We asked for another room and were taken to one which was worse than what we had. We decided to wait on the cleaner. The next day came and it still wasn't cleaned. I complained again and was told the same thing. Still nothing happened. I ended up cleaning it myself!

We were next door to about a dozen lads who were on a stag do. You've never heard anything like it. One even urinated in the corridor when he couldn't get into his room which resulted in a puddle lying outside our room! Another guy above us vomited from his balcony and was sick all over ours. I complained about that and was promised it would be cleaned. Again it was not! I ended up cleaning that as well!

This hotel was a drinkers' paradise. Adults were only interested in how many drinks they could consume. At the end of the night, kids were left carrying parents up the stairs as they were so intoxicated they couldn't walk. The noise was unbearable after 12.00 midnight and the security didn't seem to care about the noise.

The hotel was understaffed and had the most miserable staff I have ever come across. Cutlery was like gold dust. If you asked staff for cutlery because there wasn't any in the trays, they just shrugged their shoulders. Food was pathetic and didn't cater for kids whatsoever. Rubbish was left in the pool area until the next day. Even the dining area wasn't cleaned properly from the night before with remnants of food on the floor!

The entertainment was just a shambles and one big noise.

It's no wonder we spent our time on trips just to get away from that hell hole. Never again would I step foot in that hole. So if anyone has booked to go to the H. Top Molinos Park in the future, take my advice and cancel it!

Review title: "The Worst Hotel"
Travel date: October 2007
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. How this still has three star rating is beyond me. Room tiny for three of us. The 12 year old we had with us was not even booked in and was given no card which he was very upset about.

The staff were the rudest I have ever encountered. Restaurant staff were the same. Cleaning staff were not up to the job. In fact, not many of the staff were not up to the job including the entertainer. All the acts thought they could win x-factor but they were complete and utter rubbish. I have heard better drunks singing in the street.

Noise was constant after 12 midnight. Majority of people totally inconsiderate of other guests. After leaving the bar, eventually, they would sing very loudly and fight and argue in the corridors and their rooms.

In the light of the McCann situation in Portugal, I thought I would see an improvement in parent care - not so. Children were left unattended at the poolside. I also noticed more than a few parents coming down for the entertainment without said kids - who was looking after them? Not that it mattered, the same parents were so drunk they could not have helped their children anyway. On a few occasions I even saw children coming down to the evening entertainment without their parents who I assume were lying drunk in their rooms! Horrifying!

I would not recommend the Molinos Park or any other H. Top hotel to anyone.

We originally booked Villa Marina and have to say we stayed there before and much rather H Top. On arrival it seems to be out of town and away from everywhere, yet there are buses that go all over the place outside the hotel. The beach is four minutes away but not really ideal if you have a buggy. We walked with our three year old down the steps to the beach and dragged the buggy down the steps. It was really wasn't a chore as the beach was great for the kids. If you have a little one that will hold your hand, I would suggest you leave the buggy at the hotel as it really is that close.

Rooms are basic but spotless. We had two beds that became four by magic, so we were four soldiers in a row. Kids thought it was great.

Hotel really clean - maids in every day and they were polishing the place when I visited reception early one morning. Slight smell as you walked down the steps to the main bar/entertainment area but I think it's generally the drainage smell and after a few gin and tonics it disappeared.

Outside area was OK. Small pool for the kids that my three year old loved. The larger pool was also great. Crammed chairs rather than beds but it did the job. Small playground at the back. Again, kids thought it was great. We had a beer or two whilst they played.

Food was lovely - lots of choice. I'm vegetarian and ate really well. Kids also ate well. Drinks was also great - wine not fab, but once you tasted it, you had to have another one. We were on the all inclusive and its definitely worth it. You didn't feel guilty if you had to ditch the wine and have a short or beer!

One tip that I would definately suggest you do before going home and this may sound really sad, is to book the washing machine and dryer free of charge to do all your washing. I did the whole suitcase sipping a G & T save doing it on my return. On the roof of the hotel, no children are allowed and it's fab - hot tub and bar with a fantastic view.

We are going back again in August 2008 to the H. Top Molinos Park. This holiday was really good on a budget and is good value for money.

Oh my gosh! Where do I start. As a short flight holiday to the sun and being all inclusive, I thought it would be ideal for me, my partner and my two teen boys. I have read some reviews about the hotel being cheap but I don't call £1500 cheap for one week.

My teens enjoyed it as there are lots and lots of kids all different ages but for the adults, it's just a complete booze up. Rubbish entertainment, if you can call it that. Blackpool with sun. The food is the same old and like pig slop, you have to chase waitresses for different items and their faces say it all when you ask them.

The staff are so rude throughout the hotel and the bar staff oh my gosh, you hate having to ask them for a drink which even though you are all inclusive, you feel as though you are begging. One of the staff brought tears to my eyes after shouting at me aggressively when I politely said he had given me the wrong drink which was for my son. I asked for pineapple and lemonade and was given vodka and lemonade so he chucked it flying.

I also witnessed a glass being chucked at another boy in the pool which cut the ten year old in the face and the so called life guard just wiped the blood away and sat back down. Unbelievable, eh?! Also to top it off, after a downpour, the front of hotel was very slippery with no warning devices. It was like an ice rink and I slipped off the step onto my back and got myself a lovely graze/bruise for the week which was very sore.

All I can say is I read reports before I went but still went as I like to judge for myself and boy, it has put me off going abroad again. Even now the smell of drains bring back terrible nightmares as that's what you also inhale for your full duration. Advice - don't waste your coins - there are lots of other nice hotels out there. Don't be fooled with this all inclusive lark, it's rubbish.

The hotel stinks, the food is disgraceful and you can't go anywhere near the pool until 9.45 bang on. Then at 6 they come and collect all the sunbeds. If I was to carry on writing review, I would be here for a week so all in all, if you want a good holiday, stay well away from H Top Molinos. I wish I had.

We booked the holiday before reading any of the reviews, so on the run up to the holiday we were worried that it was going to be horrible.

Anyway, we arrived at the hotel and we had such a shock it was really nice. The staff were really pleasant and helpful. We went to our room and that was really clean and just basic.

It was then time for dinner and we were expecting the food to be rubbish but it was really nice and the was something for everyone.

All in all, we had a really good time and the kids loved it. The Molinos Park was spotless and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely go back because for the price we paid it was excellent. So anyone else who has booked first before reading the reviews, don't worry, you will enjoy it.

What a great hotel! Obviously not the Ritz but for what we paid, far, far greater then what we expected, especially after reading previous reviews. Food was great - mussels, king prawns, pork beef, salmon, fillets, chicken and hams were just some of the meats with soup, cheeses, salads, fruit, puddings, the lot - it was great! The bar was hardly busy and got served super quick. There was a slight smell only in the room but that soon disappeared. Jacuzzi roof top was fab. Overall rating - fantastic!

Review title: "Great For Adults"
Travel date: May 2007
I went to Salou with my mum, my partner and our two children aged three and eight. We went all inclusive so we wouldn't have to travel far for something to eat. When we arrived at the Molinos hotel, we were really surprised how nice and clean it was and it didn't smell at all. The reception staff was really helpful and friendly. We were on the fourth floor so we had to take the lift which was working. Our room was clean and smelt ok but there was mould on the shower curtain that was all.

In the morning we went for breakfast which was not very nice but they did try to cater as much as they could for what people liked back here. Lunch and dinner was ok but got fed up of eating the same things everyday. The meat did not look very appetising so I just lived on salad and pasta. The snacks was just as bad, all that there was, was burgers which was red in the middle, onions, chips and salad.

The pool was nice, very cold, but the kids enjoyed it. When we went, it was very hot so they could play outside all day. There was no kids' club during the day. The only thing there was, was bingo. They told us they try to make it a family thing but having drinking competitions is not for kids. Even at night there was nothing for them to do. They did the same things night after night. In the hotel they had three pool tables but they kept getting broken by unruly kids.

There was a nice little beach just down the road and a supermarket with a bus stop and taxi rank just outside of the hotel. There was also a little hut where you could get your tickets for excursions to Barcelona or PortAventura. We went there on the fourth day and it was brilliant. We didn't have to queue for anything.

After about a day in the hotel it started to really smell of blocked drains and in our rooms, we had to fill the bath with water then pull the plug to make the sewage go down the drains.

There is a little park outside for the kids to play in and it is secure. At night all the adults could do was drink and drink as it was free but after midnight you have to pay. When we were there someone fell off of the second floor balcony and down into a gully. It took the ambulance 25 minutes to get there and another 30 minutes to get him out as the gates were locked. That was the only thing worth watching. Also the people on the second floor were getting broken into because you can climb up on to the balcony from the outside.

Everyone was very helpful at the hotel and could understand English very well. There were cleaners that came round every day to clean the rooms and change the towels. But only go there if you are a northerner because they are very rude to you if you come from down south.

Only take your children if they like bingo, swimming, burgers, chips and don't get bored very quickly. God knows what they would do if it started to pour down with rain. Don't go all inclusive, go half board or self catering. We got a bus into Salou main centre and had something different to eat which was nice.

Oh yeah, and only go to the hotel Molinos if you are hard of hearing because the volume of the music is so loud you cant hear anybody talking to you and you cant hear what the entertainers say because their voices sound all muffled when they talk into the microphone. Only go there if you are aged between 18-30 and like drinking.

The hotel was clean and the inclusive food was quite reasonable for the price we paid (a late booking). However, in the week we were there, the weather was dull, cold and very rainy. Given the conditions, we expected that our nine year old would be ok because the hotel came with a kids' club. Be warned, this is only active during peak season. So about 150 people were just sitting in the lounge all day with no music, just playing cards etc.

We resorted to catching the very regular and cheep buses into Salou. Ooops - most of the family bars were also shut until mid May.

When it wasn't raining we found ourselves walking round and round Salou and queuing with everyone else at PortAventura (average wait in a weekday was two hours!)

I think the sun would have put a brighter outlook on the holiday (and I can't blame the hotel for that), but the lack of activities at the hotel made the week quite a boring experience.

Ok, I've just read the last review and have to agree with most of it. The hotel leaves a lot to be desired, but we paid just over £100 for a week all inclusive. What can you expect?

The hotel and staff were great. The problems came from the people staying there. A lot of these seemed to have been 'let out' for the week and left with a free bar from morning to night, just went mad and drank themselves silly! The kids were left to run riot and we spotted a few very underage drunken kids! To me that was the biggest route of the problems. We took ourselves off to the roof top area. There were no kids allowed, so it was really nice much cleaner and quieter.

The hotel did have a dreadful smell to it, but so did half of Salou. The drainage systems are terrible in this part of Spain.

The hotel is basic to say the least! The food was ok. There was always something you could eat, even if it was just cheese and bread. On the whole we had a good time; there were ten of us aging from 11 years to 40++.

I wouldn't choose to go again, but I wouldn't tell people not to go. Read the reviews and make up your own mind. They didn't stop us going and it really is a case of what you make it! And as I say, you get what you pay for, as far as food and accommodation go.

Fawlty Towers eat your heart out! First impressions were good. I was travelling with three other adults, two children aged seven and eight and two infants, both a year and a half. We arrived at the hotel bout 11.45 local time. The other couple's room was ready but ours wasn't so we decided to do some exploring. Hotel lobby was lovely but that's were it ended.

When I booked in January 06, no where did it say that the hotel was on a hill and unsuitable for people with walking difficulties. Access to the bar and pool facilities could only be reached by going down a death defying flight of stairs (not an easy task for toddlers in pushchairs) - no lifts!

In our room they had managed to squash in four beds and a cot into a room no bigger than a shoe box. We had literally one and a half feet either side of the bed before you reached either the wall or the balcony doors! Top that off with no storage space for five people's clothes. Our beds were made every day but weren't changed once the whole week we were there. The towels were changed once. The floors weren't cleaned at all while there. The same brown stain was on the bathroom floor from the day we arrived until the day we left. The smell in the rooms was horrendous - smelt like cats pee throughout the whole hotel, made worse by the fact they switch off the air-con after the 15th September because its out of season (even though we were having 30 degrees everyday).

The food was atrocious, unless you liked sausages and chips for every meal. There was nothing to feed the toddlers (who aren't fussy eaters) and the only thing they had for them to drink was fizzy drinks. No diluting drinks and water had to be paid for, even though we were all inclusive.

The kiddies' play area, if you could call it that, had raw sewage running into it, hence the smell and the constant swarm of flies.

There were 21 break ins in the week we were there, the majority of which occurred while people were in bed asleep. The police were in the hotel at least twice a day. The noise levels at night were ridiculous. It was more like a nightclub than a hotel. People shouting and fighting constantly. We spent five days paying to eat and drink in the hotel next door, the Sunclub Aparthotel which was fantastic. I wouldn't send my worse enemy to Top Molinos Park!

Our room was lovely. Clean, fresh, new sheets everyday. I just loved staying there. Food was great (chips - mmmmm). Pool area was stunning. Bar staff (Diego, Jimmy and the rest) were gorgeous. Where do I begin? What a nightmare of a place. I took my mum there for a break – she had just lost my dad so I thought I would treat her. I wish I had not. The entertainment was rubbish, the rooms were rubbish and the food was rubbish. Staff so so.

Kids everywhere. Parents letting them run wild. Lots of hen and stag parties which should not be allowed. More like a club 18-30. Disgusting.

The disabled had to sit upstairs because no lift down to the bar and entertainment room and pool but what makes me giggle is they have a disabled tiolet for the disabled. What a joke!

Highly not recommended by me or my mother. We had to endure this and the noise of banging and fighting and arguments for two weeks. Never again will I ever go there again.

Well what can I say? First impressions it seemed lovely. Food was great, night time a nightmare. The first night we got there we checked in. Bit of a hold up with the room but not a problem. We got to the room there was hair in the bath and soap scum on the soap holder so I cleaned it anyway. Not a problem.

The entertainment for kids was not too good. They were having kids' fun dances at 10:45 pm. Entertainment for adults wasn't that good. The stage collapsed in the hotel, the staff seemed tired all the time, no enthusiasm at all and the lifts broke.

As for night time, there was no trouble in the bar, just when everyone got to their rooms there would be shouting, slamming, doors banging - it was like being on a 18-30 holiday and if you don't like loud music, shouting or rowdiness don't go here.

We were also disappointed with the all-inclusive bit as you had to pay for ice creams for the kids and snacks behind the bar, which I thought was a bit naughty as well as the fact it stated on the booking hotel information that the bar was open till 1 am. It got to 00:00 midnight and they would hurry you out which I didn't think was fair but I thought Salou was a lovely place. I went for a week. I went on the Monday and by Wednesday I was packed ready to come home. I would definitely not want to go back ever again. Be warned - it isn't a nice hotel to stay, the only highlight is the food.

We were a party of four adults, two of them teenagers. The journey to the hotel was trouble free and the hotel looked really nice when we arrived. The room was ok but parts of it were not all that clean, especially in the bathroom, e.g. mould around the shower heads, a hole in the ceiling where water dripped through etc. The maid service was fine and we had clean towels most days.

The main problem was the noise levels. If you want a good night's sleep, this is not the hotel for you. The walls are so thin you can hear everything from the room next door and believe me, people weren't very considerate late into the night. Had to complain a couple of times about it.

The bar area and pool are down a flight of stairs which was ok for us but not if you are disabled or have a pushchair. The curtains in the bar were all covered in black mould and the tables were always sticky. I felt as though it needed an update and a good clean.
The pool was fine but very cramped in the day. You had a job getting a sun bed. We went to the beach every day which was down a bit of a hill but worth it. The food at the hotel was reasonable and the restaurant staff very efficient.

So, to sum up, we were very disappointed with the hotel and have no plans to visit any time in the future.

Clean and comfortable room. Clean towels every day. Food was well cooked and presented in clean restaurant. BEWARE! There is air conditioning but on timer between 2pm and 2am so gets really stuffy during the night. Really bad smell from the drains in our room and quite a few other people complaining of same problem.

Short walk to local beach but a real hike to Salou (suggest local bus which stops outside hotel and costs 1.60 euros each way (adult).

After reading the appalling reviews on this website, I was very reluctant and almost cancelled my booking. It was a trip arranged by the college and I started to believe my lecturers had skanked me.

But after a reasonably trouble-free journey, I was extremely surprised when I first saw the hotel. First impressions are very good and I couldn't wait to get a cold beer down my throat. The check-in staff were very polite and helpful. After checking-in we were shown to our rooms and were delighted with our accommodation, finding the rooms tidy, pleasant and well-maintained. We arrived late so we immediately went for our meals straight away, and found the menu had a great variation for everyone. The food was delicious, well-cooked and presented professionally.

Before going out to get completely smashed, we took a short self-guided tour of the hotel. We found that the facilities were more than adequate and the pool was magnificent. The water was very clean and the pool was immaculate.

The entertainment was good and fun and generally and the staff were awesome. I would recommend it to anyone of all ages.
