Review title: "Private Complex Not A Holiday Complex"
Travel date: September 2009
All apartments in the Castillo Mar are privately owned. Therefore, there has not been a reception for many years.
The gardens are looking wonderfully clean and tidy. The pool is still not fixed but there is a lovely beach close by.

Review title: "Lovely Holiday"
Travel date: June 2008
we stayed at the Castillo Mar complex and had a lovely holiday. The apartment we stayed in had recently been refurbished and was clean and tidy. The complex was central to everything in Caleta and only a short walk to the bars and restaurants. CCTV security kept the complex safe.

However, the pool was undergoing some maintenance work and wasn't available. Overall, I would say that we enjoyed our stay and would definately book again next year!

Review title: "A Wonderful Time"
Travel date: June 2008
We have just come back from the Castillo Mar in Calete de Fuste and had a wonderful time! The complex was clean and the apartment was just lovely. The location was perfect for the town, the bars and the shops.

The only hitch was the pool not being available. However, when we booked we were told of this and everybody is allowed to use the pool on the next complex which is over the road. I would recommend this complex to anybody.

Review title: "Dreadful"
Travel date: April 2008
Having stayed in this complex many years ago when it was used by a tourist company, I expected a nice clean and high quality complex but when we arrived we had a shock. Public areas were dirty and shabby. The pool had been empty for what appeared like a long time and the bar was closed. No receptionist, in fact the reception area was empty as were shop units attached to the complex. I always said I would try to find a positive when reviewing but am struggling. The Castillo Mar complex was central but would not revisit.

Review title: "Castillo Mar Seems In Trouble"
Travel date: February 2008
The Castillo Mar was OK in January 2008 until they cut off the water, I heard, and the bar and pool shut shortly after. It is now in a sorry state. We were shocked when we revisited in February 2009. Thank goodness we were up the road.

Hopefully people will soon have sorted the finances out and reinstated it to its former glory as it is well situated and some owners are excellent, but not all. There are some neglected bits and it is getting old.

Review title: "A Fabulous Holiday"
Travel date: October 2007
This was the best break in years. The accommodation in the Castillo Mar was clean and spotless. The pool was gorgeous and cleaned daily, sun beds were plenty and we never had to get up at the crack of dawn to get one. Staff were friendly. The pool bar was fantastic, serving huge portions and fabulous evening entertainment.

We were minutes from everything, from restaurants, shops and the beach. The kids had a lovely time, and made friends easily, playing in the pool in the daytime, then enjoying pool bar fun in the evenings. Simply the best.

Review title: "Castillo Mar Apartments Awful!"
Travel date: July 2007
The apartment we stayed in on this complex was dirty and dangerous. It had wall sockets hanging of a bedroom wall and other sockets in the same room weren't working. The floors in the apartment were filthy and the furniture on the balcony was unusable until we cleaned it.

The Castilla Mar complex itself was not brilliant. One of the two pools was empty and full of rubbish and the main pool had dangerous drains around it, in which my partner fell down badly hurting his leg. If it had been a child, they would have almost certainly have broken their leg or ankle. There were not enough sunbeds for the amount of apartments on the complex, maybe 12 at most, so unless you were up at crack of dawn to secure yours, you had no hope! There is no reception, all we saw was an empty desk.

Behind the apartments was what can only be described as a rubbish dump in the street. Maybe we were just unlucky with our particular apartment but the complex overall was very, very disappointing.
