We feel we made a good choice for our first family holiday abroad, but then again we didn't know what to expect. The apartment was clean and the maids were very good. The meals were so so as I'm not a fish eater, and not in to too much rich food but there was plenty of it. In fact, we got to the stage were we were sick of eating.

We were not impressed with the children's entertainment. I was glad my children were that bit older so they could amuse themselves. The entertainers spoke mainly German knowing they could speak English, and they seemed to focus their attention on the German kids and ignored the English ones. Yet at the sister hotel, the Aldea, the entertainers spoke English but if we went up there we had to pay for our drinks. As we were all inclusive at the Country Club, we felt we were being penalised just so our kids could join in the fun.

The pool advertised in the brochure wasn't the one open when we got there. We felt not all the amenities were open for us, and like many others, we weren't impressed with the plastic cups. I know they were for safety reasons round the pool but at night the adults could have had glass.

The minibus service was good that took us into Fornells. The last two days of our holiday we went to the beach like we had on many occasions but found we had to pay for the sun loungers, six euros each. That beach was for the Country Club and we felt as being all inclusive we wouldn't have to pay.

We're not sure if we would return to the Country Club but the experience has made us more aware of what to look out for in a good family holiday abroad.
