Review title: "Hotel Alexis Is Dreadful"
Travel date: February 2008
Positive points first. The hotel is very clean.

Negative points. The food was inedible, the tureen which is supposed to have hot water in it to keep the food hot was empty and turned off.

On the first night the police surrounded the hotel and proceeded to raid it because of guests fighting. On the last three nights there was fighting every night. We were lucky to get two hours sleep at night. Other guests were running up and down the corridors banging on other guests doors. This was reported to the management but nothing was done about it.

I would not even recommend the Alexis hotel to my worst enemy. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Never again.

Review title: "Beware Of This Hotel"
Travel date: September 2007
This hotel holds a number of surprises, unfortunately none of them are good.

The rooms are furnished lightly which isn't a problem, as it is much as one would expect. Being woken every morning by the cleaning staff having their morning convention outside the room at 7 a.m. is a little disturbing. When politely asked to be quiet, you are politely ignored.

The food was cold, greasy and on the whole inedible. The in-between snack menu never varied at all for a week - burnt burgers and chips. Breakfast was the same everyday - greasy and cold. The hot drinks were not hot, in fact the only hot thing in the hotel was the shower - but when you least expected it.

The pool on the ground floor was small and hidden to the side of the hotel and had a shoe at the bottom that stayed there for the week. The roof pool was the smallest I have ever seen and those guests who used it with a lilo prevented anyone else getting in due to the size.

The staff were not overly friendly apart from one male bar staff, the rest were disinterested and made up their own rules. Two examples of this were that all inclusive guests had to use one side of the bar - unless the bar staff were partying in which case you would be served anywhere. If you sat outside then only plastic glasses were allowed, unless they couldn't be bothered in which case you got a proper glass. The one disturbing scene to be witnessed was a member of staff using the reflective side of the soft drinks machine to squeeze their spots then using the bar towel to wipe their face!

The one saving highlight of staying here was that we left at the end of the week.

However, it should be said that this is a lovely area and a great beach. Fortunately for us we found a welcoming bar called the 'White Horse' that did great food and a warm welcome.

Sadly disappointed that hotels like the Alexis still operate.

This hotel has lots of bad reviews but it's a lovely place. The food is great - good choice. Pool is relaxing and the jacuzzis on the roof are fantastic. All the staff are very nice and they can't help you enough! Best holiday!

Whatever you do, don't stay here. The hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was cold and old fashioned and as for the bathroom, complete shocker! The bath, no word of a lie, was half the size of a standard bath and the walls were so thin you could here next door speaking.

The TV had hardly any English speaking channels. One night we had it on and one hotel member of staff knocked on our room door to tell us to turn it down. We explained we had no TV remote and when he came up with one 10 minutes later, we asked if we could keep the remote in the room and he told us we needed to pay five euros! That wasn't the worst.

We did some shopping and left it in our room. Then when we came up later a pack of biscuits was opened. Then when we went to reception to complain they said no one had been in the room. Next day, to my surprise, a brand new pack was on our table (coincidence?).

You will be woken up sometimes by loud cleaners (we were about three times in the week we stayed). The hotel pool - we didn't even bother with as its so small and grotty. Worst of all the food. A sausage looked like a fried cats tail! All of it was disgusting. All I ate was fruit.

And finally, the entertainment. Well, I know I have dragged this out a little and i bet you think I'm a sad moaner, but trust me, I am doing you a favour and well, if you still want to go, good luck!
