Stayed at the Rebecca Park in March 2009 when the carnival was on. Was a little worried regarding the previous reviews but we need not have worried as we loved it.
Yes, the pool on the first day could have been cleaner but as soon as was mentioned, it was attended to, and as for the other reviews about it being a little tired, yes maybe, but they say you get what you pay for and we found it good value for money with very good maid service - I mean dishes washed, clothes hung up and clean towels five times a week.
Pepe the manager has to be the nicest chap I think we have ever met! As it was close to Yumbo, it was a little noisy but was to be expected due to the carnival. All in all, a fab holiday with lots of friendly English folk too. Would for sure go again.

We arrived at the Rebecca Park around 9 p.m. on the Monday night and left the following day at 5 p.m. The apartment had a bunged up hole in the bedroom ceiling, a hole in the kitchen ceiling, two damaged room doors, rust spots in the bath and a bedroom window that could not be shut properly so the apartment was insecure.
On top of all that, the bed and pillows stank of sweat and extortionate prices were wanted for the hire of a small fan. We both sat up all night on the settee.
Would never ever step foot in the place again!

"Second Holiday In Rebecca Park"

August 2008
This is the second time we have been to the Rebecca Park and they still have not disappointed us. Myself, my partner and her nine year old daughter stayed there last Spring when the weather was a bit cooler but the beach was emptier and again this August, when it was hot but busy.
I would like to thank Lorraine, or is it Lora now, for her friendship and advice on where to go. The island as a whole is a superb destination with hospitable people and fantastic scenery.
The hotel staff are friendly and efficient with the manager Jose welcoming you like a friend, unless you are over rowdy then he kicks you out, which is comforting for those with children. The apartments are basic but comfortable with the essentials, but for value for money I would happily recommend it. I know we are planning our return.

"Sadly Mislead!"

We booked this year's holiday after a lot of research and were tempted by the fantastic reviews the Rebecca Park had received.
We arrived in the early hours to be greeted by a non-English speaking porter who scribbled on a piece of paper where our accommodation was. The apartment was suffocatingly hot with no air conditioning, although we later found out fans were available at a high price. The rooms, although clean, were very basic. Sheets and towels threadbare and grey, which was no joke when you had too much sun!
The pool area was dirty and people complained several times that the water was dirty. Lack of staff - on several occasions one member of staff for pool bar, reception and shop etc. We gave up in the end.
The Yumbo Centre was good the first couple of times we visited, although all of the bars are 'gay' so therefore a lot of people found it and the many drag shows inappropriate with young children.
Please be careful when considering to book the Rebecca Park. We were tempted by the gold awards but later found out they were awarded in 2002-2004 and a lot can happen since then!

As usual it was lovely to see all our friends again for the Mardi Gras. Although Tracy has returned back to England, both Lorraine and the main man, along with all the staff, made the holiday as fantastic as ever. We always are greeted with a warm welcome, even getting our room by the tennis courts without even asking. Greeted with a jug of sangria after our flight and there is nothing too much for the staff to make your stay welcome.
Every year we meet more wonderful friends who we meet at the Rebecca Park every year now. We are even looking to get over for Xmas to celebrate my birthday and new year as we cant wait until May! Ten out of ten in every way and friends for life - that's what Rebecca Park gives you!

Me, my partner and two friends have just got home this morning. We stayed at the Rebecca Park in rooms 102/103 (studios right on the pool front). It was great. Everything you needed - food/drink/shop on site, friendly staff, good English some of them spoke, manager always pleasant, rooms were just what you wanted with beds, kitchen, eating area and bath/shower. Yes, a few ants but you come to Gran Canaria - I'm sure ants are all over?
Would definitely stay there again. We're coming to Gran Canaria in September. Who knows, maybe we might book there again!

Staff friendly, and always chat, both the English staff and the locals. Rooms were cleaned to an excellent standard five out of the seven days. Linen and towels changed on alternate days. Bath towels ranged in size over the week from not enough to cover your nethers to big, cover you entirely up! Some more tired than others, but all clean. Enough things in the kitchen to be able to knock up breakfast, which is all we really needed. Had one meal delivered to the room, but it was cold by the time it got to us, so we did not try that again. Microwave, toaster, kettle and hob. TV and radio. Lovely and quiet, no noise from outside. We were in room 154, opposite another complex, but did not hear a thing. Must say though both our apartments and resort was quiet when we were there, but it was filling up as we left, so can't really comment. Pool area was quiet, but again, by the time we left, all the beds were spoken for! Water was freezing! Ants in the bedroom, but there was spray under the sink and that soon got rid of them. Always had plenty of hot water whatever time of the day we used it. Nice area outside where we were to be able to sit outside your room, not the same in them all.
Ideally placed for everything in Playa del Ingles. Left out of the entrance, at the top of the road was a small commercial centre, but a nice Italian restaurant, majority of others were Dutch in orientation. (If you walk to the back of this, and take the bridge over the road, there is a nice little Spanish restaurant, which we only found on our last night!) Easy walk down to the beach, all down hill. Come out, turn right, then left, then keeping doing a left and a right, and you eventually filter down. Taxis were cheap and easy to find. Faro de Maspolamas a short trip away, and nice area to walk and eat. Easy walk to Yumbo and Kasbah etc. All in all, a good cheap break away.

We have just arrived back from the Rebecca Park, having been to Gran Canaria six times and these apartments rate in the top two places we've stayed. They are cleaned five times a week (the only downside is feeling pressurised by the cleaner hovering outside your room) although I'd rather have that then the rooms not cleaned and towels not changed.
Also not enough sun beds round the pool.
The apartments are very centrally located for the night life and shopping centres but if you enjoy the beach, then be prepared for a long walk. Overall I'd certainly recommend these apartments for a stay in Playa del Ingles.

We have just returned from a week's break at the apartments - end February to 5th March. We were more than pleased with location, right in the heart of Playa del Ingles but once inside the complex, it was so peaceful and relaxing you would not have thought that everything was so close and at hand just outside the door!
The staff are friendly and helpful and the complex is really clean and well maintained. The only downside would be in the summer when there is no air conditioning, although fans etc are available to hire. The apartments are well maintained, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We shall definitely return here for another winter break. We are new 'senior citizens' and thoroughly enjoyed the resort and all it's activities with the added bonus of chilling out in the Rebecca Park facilities.

"Rebeca Park Bungalows"
Travel date:
January 2007
My friend and I just returned last night after staying in a bungalow here, which was basic. Ours was number 144 which faced a wall and was next to the cleaners' area. We were not late risers - up and breakfast by 9 a.m. but the cleaner would be hovering about ready to enter (like greased lightening - floor would be mopped from bathroom through bedroom to living room in five minutes).
We had three meals and we found they were very good and more than we could eat (plus they will deliver to your bungalow but before 8.30 p.m. closing time).
Our main complaint we had was we did not have a settee in the living room just an unmade bed. When we were unable to go out due to the rain and wind from 7 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday, we could just sit and read, we had to sit on our beds as the dining chairs (OK to use while having a bite to eat) were too straight for relaxing. We also had ants in the bathroom (around the sink area) where we had kept our toiletry bags (cleaner never moved them once in seven days). We had to throw them out - didn't want to bring any ants back here.
Plus side, very handy for Yumbo centre and other attractions.

"Not The Best"

The staff are absolutely lovely here, however it is obviously compensating for the cleanliness and appearance of the bungalows. They are completely ant infested and are only cleaned five out of seven days, if you can even call what they do as cleaning! They barely mop the floors, which is a major must considering the amount of ants that are in the bungalow. We had two huge holes in the sky light in the bathroom, which is obviously a dangerous threat when it rains during the night and you need to go to the bathroom during the night!
The swimming pool area is shabby. Many of the sun beds are broken and cannot be changed in position. The pool area is completely disgusting hygienically and I would highly recommend finding alternate accommodation!

Our stay at Rebecca Park apartments was a pleasure. Staff very friendly, complex very clean, very close to all the bars, shops, markets and restaurants and a nice walk to the beach if you are fit. If not, there are taxis everywhere. Complex is very quiet and peaceful.
I did think they could provide more sun loungers as if you were not up early, you had no chance of getting a lounger. Also, I found the pool very cold and at times dirty but as I am not a pool person, this was not a big deal to me.
The weather was hot but it did rain several times and was very windy but remained hot. It also got dark very early in the evening so best to get up early to make the most of the weather if that's what you are going for.
Overall a good cheap holiday. Probably would not return as I have a lot of other places I would like to visit but it was very nice compared to some holiday places I have stayed.

"Worst Holiday Ever!"
Travel date:
September 2006
This was the worst holiday me and my family have ever been on. I don't think it deserves a one out of ten but a sero oit of ten! For one thing, we were miss sold the holiday. In our party there were two adults and two children, aged 11 and nine. When we got there, we had to wait ages for a room - about one and a half hours.
Our room was dirty and there were big gaps under the door. The staff were very rude and when we tried to complain they were very rude about it. The bed covers were very itchy. The room was cockroach infested. I understand you get cockroaches abroad but this was a joke. They were getting in under the door, which was no surprise considering you could probably fit cats under it. The first night there was awful. The children were scared and there wasn't even a double bed for the adults. You couldn't even have pushed them together because there were big bits sticking out of the side which was a serious heath hazard.
The hotel turned out to be an 18-30's hotel, not a suitable atmosphere for children. It meant the pool was deeper than usual and was too deep for the children to swim. There wasn't a proper restaurant, just a cafeteria which inside was disgusting. Very unhygienic, especially in a place where food was made. The people making the food were not wearing hair nets and their hands were dirty.
There were not many other restaurants or shops about like the description says. There was a Chinese restaurant where the food was considerably good. A long wait for a table though. There was one mini market with very expensive prices. It turned out to be about £3 for a carton of milk!
We were not introduced to a rep so we had to go looking for one. We found a guy who was very helpful. He understood we were miss sold this holiday and he managed to get us transferred. He transferred us to a four star hotel and we were very impressed. It was called Ocean Palace (now Ocean Resort) and it was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. This was our first time travelling with First Choice and we were very put off by the Rebecca Park Apartments and decided not to use them again but once we'd seen Ocean Palace we changed our minds.
If you booked a place at this hotel and are reading this review and are very nervous take my advice - cancel if you can!

The grounds were very pretty and we had lovely view of gardens and pool. It was a very peaceful complex.
