The Torrejoven Hotel does not actually offer much of what it claims. The staff are mostly unpleasant and appear miserable. Other than two or three pool tables in a disco, there is nothing for younger children (not even a small games room). The swimming pool is cold and much too deep for smaller children and lacks safety depth markings and is in semi-permanent shade. The pool area is generally shabby, as are the local streets.

The rooms are cleanish but lack tea/coffee making facilities. The nine or ten channel satellite TV is all in Spanish with poor picture reception and does not have any English speaking channels.

We were there a week and gave up reporting our room. Safe did not work (it was locked and would not open)and various reception staff said an engineer would call but it was still not 'fixed' by the time we left seven days later. The fire alarm went off twice, once at 10 p.m. Thankfully both times were false-alarms caused by faulty electrics. A hand-rail on the third floor interior staircase was broken. Overall it gives pretty poor value for money.

I stayed at the hotel Torrejoven for a week at the end of August 2007 and I found it terrible. They say they have kids' clubs but there weren't any, the staff weren't approachable or helpful, there was no atmosphere in the hotel. The pool area was small and with no entertainment or atmosphere. Not a hotel I would recommend to families. Overall view, I wasn't happy with the hotel at all.

The Torrejoven Hotel was very good value for money. We paid 72 euros for four nights stay in a twin room bed and breakfast in mid January. Only problem though is that we just tried booking again for next week and no rooms are available.
