Definitely a 20's hotel. Las Piramides was nice and in a great location in comparison with the strip and the beach. It wasn't the tidiest hotel when we first arrived but when there were problems, the friendly staff were open to help.

The rooms were big so plenty of space for everything including what was stolen the drunken night before! Be warned - you will be woken up at about 4 a.m. every morning from the late clubbers.

Great apartments, clean with a good pool and friendly staff. Beautiful beach five minutes away. Great weather all week.

Some nice resturants. Would recommend the 'China' restaurant's Chinese buffet. Good shops and excursions. We went to 'Jungle Park' - huge place and really good day out.

The only problem all week was PAs outside clubs, resturants and shops etc, asking you to go in or trying to sell you goods, every single day, but overall a really lovely place, good holiday. Good prices at the 'Hereford Bull' pub.

My friend and I stayed here in March. The hotel was clean and did not seem to be busy, although we were told it was full, which was a good thing. The pool areas were clean and tidy and staff were friendly. The hotel is very close to shops, some fab restaurants and bars. We would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful break but also wants to be close to the hub of Las Americas. We cannot wait to return to the Las Piramides.

I have rated these apartments ten out of ten. If you are looking for air con (fans are for hire), hair dryers in the bathroom and a full kitchen, pay double the price and go some where its a bit classier. You get what you pay for. Have a look at what you get in the UK for £100 per person for seven nights.

The Piramides are a very good, clean, basic apartment, well located. On our last visit the towels were changed every day and sheets on the bed twice in seven days. The staff are very good and very friendly and that's from the reception through to the house keeping staff (they like to be treated like you would). The bar staff are all from the UK and great fun.

This hotel has the best hotel entertainment aimed at the UK market in the area. 9:30-10:30 p.m. is happy hour two for one and well used.

My wife and I have stayed at the Piramides seven times and in the past there have been some noisy nights. The management have taken note and the last two visits have been peaceful with a full nights sleep. The security staff are on the go night and day.

Because this is a big complex, I strongly advise a safety deposit box - ten euros per seven days + 15 euros deposit on the key which is returned when you check out. This an 18-30's hotel in high season and if you are not of this ilk, go elsewhere. Have a good holiday.

Check in at the Las Piramides was smooth and there were no problems. Apartment was clean and a good size for three sharing. Ideally located as near to beaches, bars restaurants etc. Bar staff and chef were very friendly. Pool lovely, supermarket very handy to have within apartment.

Only fault was no air conditioning in the room. Other than that it was a fantastic holiday and weather was amazing!

I would recommend this one to all families and singles too. Well done to the staff, you are all special. Spanish hospitality at its best. Well done, keep it up. The pleasure of your attitude was enjoyed by my family. Respect due.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Tenerife. This hotel was perfect for the money we paid (£150 each). It wasn't the cleanest, quietest or most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in, but again, what do you expect for a good, old fashioned, cheap holiday. The pool needed some general repairs and a good heating system and the rooms needed air conditioning, which Thomson failed to mention. I have heard horror stories of cockroaches, but we only saw two the whole holiday and they weren't even in the hotel.
Also stories of loud music and shouting all night - our room was right over the main entrance and the only thing that woke us up was the bin men every other day. I was told that this hotel becomes an 18-30s hotel in the summer so be warned!
As for the location, this hotel was second to none. Just around the corner was a great cheap pub called the 'Royal' where we started every night, playing their family fun quiz and singing along on the karaoke. Just next to that is a Chinese which is open till 6 a.m. so chicken wings and ribs for us every night on our way back to the hotel. The main night life was only a few minutes walk and so was 'Tony Romas' rib restaurant and 'Mama Rosas' steak house - two of the best places we found to eat. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone in the off season but to the younger ones in the summer. I am 30 this year and I would happily stay here again.

We stayed in the hotel for a short break and found it spotlessly clean and very user friendly. We are both over forty and there were no problems with the younger ones. The hotel had everything you needed and if you wanted to go out, there was everything you needed just 100 yards from the reception.

The only downfall was the single beds but then it was more fun jumping from one bed to another. Thanks to all the staff and to our Thompson reps. Lovely week away. Recommend going there.

Word of warning! Do not go here if you want a 'quiet one' or a 'relaxed one'. There isn't a warning that this hotel is 18-30s so I was pleasantly surprised when I got there as its right up mine and my mates street!

Review title: "The Worst Holiday I Ever Had!"
Travel date: August 2006
Me and my friend booked this holiday last minute so weren't expecting the best accommodation, but we were not expecting this! When we got off the coach, a woman just about to go home told us how bad it was and that she got no sleep the whole time and that her husband had been glassed the night before for trying to stop a fight.

When we got to our room, it was filthy and the door handles were sticky. There were holes in the bath and the patio doors were broken and wouldn't open. We told the rep (who wasn't happy to help at all) who changed us to another room which was just as bad as the plug sockets were hanging off the wall and the bed linen had hole in it. Again we went down to the rep who moved us again. This room was a little better but still awful. We got no sleep the whole holiday as there was a festival going on next door until 4 a.m. every night and just as we got to sleep, all the lads would come back from clubbing and were shouting, banging doors, playing music and moving furniture.

The hotel itself was quite dirty (especially the lifts). I would never go back there. It is full of chavs and the reps were so mardy all the time. I advise anyone that is thinking of going there to forget it. Pay the extra £100 for a classier place and avoid Playa de Las Americas completely. Nearby Fanabe is much nicer!

Reading some of the reviews here and elsewhere, I was starting to think I was going to regret booking a spot at this hotel! Got off the coach, thought 'this looks not bad actually' and when we eventually got to our room, I was made up. We had one overlooking the pool, which was spacious and clean. Maids came every morning to tidy up and we never saw a cockroach indoors at all!

Only problems were that some of the guests were a bit unsavoury – some coming in at 4 a.m., screaming at each other and slamming doors each night (just don't drink if you can't deal with it); and in the daytime the pool was surrounded by people chanting 'lets go f****** mental' over, and over and over. Harmless banter really and most were friendly enough, but I wouldn't take the kids or Gran to Las Pyramides!

The reps were generally very helpful and a laugh and the organised nights out were mostly brilliant. While in Playa de Las Americas make sure you check out 'Bob's Reggae Bar'. Make sure you go up Mount Teide as well, the landscape and views are really something else and its satisfying to do something other than be drunk all the time (honest!).

I got back from staying here a few weeks ago and I had such a great holiday. It was my first mates' holiday and I think we picked the perfect place for a young persons' holiday, as the other people in the hotel were English and around 18-30.

Good simple food as well for this age group, if you're not fussy. The reps were awesome, especially Steve and Will. Go to the foam party on the Wednesday - it is the best night of the week and the coach trip is so fun on the way home. ‘Get in, get out, stop messing about, we're in Tenerife now'.

Travel date: June 2006
Have just returned from a week at the Piramides. The hotel it self and the staff were really good. Rooms were cleaned every day. The only let down with the room were the beds were not made for tall people.

The only problem was that between the hours of 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. you could not sleep. Doors slamming, shouting and screaming, all of the time. In one week there were three ceiling lights broken. Lads playing football in corridors at night. One balcony door smashed in. I had to tell one lad to get off the balcony as he had climbed three floors on to where I was staying and the best one was when a lad, at 2 a.m., threw his bedroom furniture off the balcony as he saw a cockroach.

Thompsons describe it as a lively hotel. Well, that's an understatement. Avoid it if you can. It is not a hotel I'd visit again but I would visit resort again any time. If you like good food, visit ‘La Bocca'. It is excellent.

The location of this hotel, I would say, is second to none and the hotel itself is great. It has everything you need including two large swimming pools, restaurant (which we didn't eat in so can't comment on the food, but the menu looked nice), on site supermarket, internet (quite expensive I might add) and, most importantly, a happy hour at the bar!

I went with my girlfriend and we had a fantastic holiday overall. The apartment was nice and maids visited everyday. One of the main pluses of the room is that it had a TV with BBC1 and ITV – I couldn't believe my British luck!

Hotel is very close to shops and restaurants and I would have to recommend the 'Victory Bar' – an English pub one minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent entertainment and atmosphere. All restaurants serve lovely food - no complaints anywhere..(Recommend the filet steak at the tapas place.

The only downers was we saw one cockroach, but hey, you're in a hot place - what do you expect? The floor in our apartment was never cleaned. White socks turn to black if you catch my drift. Sun beds round the pool get filled quickly. Oh, and we only had one teaspoon in our room, which is the main reason this hotel did not get top marks. A valid point, I'm sure you'd all agree.

Definitely recommended for couples in the time we were there. Overall excellent holiday and recommend it highly. Will definitely be going back!

I was there at the apartments and the cleaners came every day.

The pool was cleaned every night. It's a lovely hotel/place. The only thing I have to be negative about is not being allowed to bring back guests if they never stayed at the hotel but you can't have everything. Over all, it was a brill place to stay and I'm booking with them again in July because of this. Thank you, I really enjoyed my stay.

Weather was great, location is good and near to all beaches, bars, restaurants. Hotel is o.k. but would not go back. Room was o.k. cockroaches and all. We had half board and the food was a bit like school dinners. Some staff are excellent while others are rude and need a holiday themselves. Eat out, I would say.

Beware of people giving out scratch cards. They are everywhere and it's just a timeshare con. You will win every time but just be polite and say no thanks, although they will insist and follow you

Pay the extra £100 for a quality hotel, it's worth it. Book with any operator apart from Thomsons, but have a good time. I recommend the paella and 'Dorada' beer.

The Hotel Piramides is a clean hotel and well kept. The cleaners came in every day, cleaned the apartment and left clean towels. The staff were friendly and helpful. Entertainment was on every night (bird shows, singers, comedians etc). This was followed by two games of bingo and then karaoke until about 1.30 in the morning.

The only downside was that I was mugged on the second night of a seven night holiday and spent two days in hospital so if there are any women reading this, please do not take your handbags out with you at night. I have ended up still receiving hospital treatment for a broken finger and received stitches in my head because the mugger pulled me down to the ground. It is not only the scars that you see but the emotional scars that this coward has left me with every day. Since I have come home I have flashbacks about the attack.
So please, once again, don't take any handbags out at nigh. I don't want anyone else to go through what I am going through

When I got out of hospital, it was a good holiday. However, our party never went anywhere on their own again and we had a good holiday and I would recommend going to a show called 'Decades' - it was magic.

Piramides Apartments are situated in a great location near everything, but off a side street to give you the quietness you may need. The reception staff are very welcoming and some are very accommodating. Housekeepers in the lobby area and throughout the hotel are always present.

The pool is very nice, although it lacks heating. They probably figure you don't need it since the weather is usually nice year round. I found our room very spacious and at first glance fair for the money.

The cons about this hotel are as follows: Though the housekeeping is present, not all will clean up to standard. Matter of fact, our room was laden with dust and smelled awful. The crockery they provided was cheap and didn't make for good use for a long period of time. We saw the housekeeper come in one day, but never saw her again or saw the results of her work.

The hotel is about money, money, money. This was evident by the numerous conveniences they made available, but at cost! Internet available but cost two euros for 20 minutes. One euro will by you ten and 50 will get you five minutes. Up the road down the hill and to the right about two minutes away three euros will buy you two hours. It's quiet and fast. I saw many customers there. Washers and dryers are available, but will cost you four euros for a load, each.

The first couple of days, we stayed in room 406 and it was very dirty, especially the floor. The refrigerator didn't get cold enough, so some of our food spoiled. After a normal rain shower, the bathroom began to leak, and leak and leak. So, by the graciousness of the attending host we were moved to room 1335, which was a lovely room. I'd recommend this room that overlooks the pool and had views of two volcanoes.

The welcoming briefing was great, except for the sales pitch for the time share. Nice people great tour, but skip the contract! If you want to save a few bucks and you take what I mentioned above in to account, this hotel is not bad. It is about five minutes from the beach. Tenerife on the whole is meant for the tourist, but you can work around it if you venture away from the crowds and go in land.

Las Piramides is a great hotel. We just got back yesterday and it was one of the best holidays we have had. The apartments were close to the beach and were surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants. They are also very close to Veronicas which is great for young people. I went with my family and because of the time of year it was a good holiday but if we went in the peak weeks, I think it would be a bit too lively for families.

The apartments have great facilities, such as a shop, a bar, laundry services, a hairdressers and internet access in the reception area. If you go into the arcades just up the road though, you will find the internet is a lot cheaper in there. The pool was nice but was not really warm so not many people went into it, and it was quite dirty.

The bar on a night was great. We would walk around Las Americas for a while on a night and get something to eat and then go back to the bar about nine. The bar staff are great and work really hard and I would like to say thanks to these people because they do not get enough praise for what they do. The entertainment is also very good and is on every night apart from Fridays. Also the prizes which the hotel gives during competitions and quizzes and bingo are very generous.

I would recommend getting a safe from the hotel as they are not expensive. The maids clean your room every day and you get new bedding and towels. Also, the security work all through the night to keep the apartments safe.

I would definitely go back to Las Piramides next year and I think the time we went was perfect. I have heard it is the best New Year you will ever have there so I would quite like to go a bit earlier so we are there for New Year next time.

I managed to get this hotel at £13 a night which was great, seeing as I was hardly ever there. Although peak season and I was there with Club Freestyle, I was a little disappointed with the lack of liveliness. This is definitely a place to go with your mates, I would be well hacked off if I had gone with my family and people like me were strolling in at gone four in the morning making lots of noise.

Seeing as this was a last minute decision to go out to see my friends already out there, I had an amazing room. Two balconies and two beds, (although I had the room to myself). The fridge however was broken which was a bit of a pain seeing as it was HOT! Anyway, I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is close to everything you could ever want. There is also a shop in the hotel which was half the price of my mates' hotels. It was great!

The pool is a decent size, but this is definitely best for single people who want a holiday of drinking.

Las Piramides is quality. I personally would not rate it as a two star, its more like a three star hotel.

Me and a friend stayed in a studio apartment and it was a lot more spacious then I thought it was going to be.

Cleaners came every day which is excellent and the security guards were there all the time telling us off for the music being too loud! Fair enough!

We had the best view going from our balcony. To the left were the mountains, directly in front was the swimming pool and to the right was the sea. We had the sun all day long on the balcony which was quite spacious.

Food from the snack bar was good and cheap.

Would definitely recommend it to young couples or friends but I would say its not really for families. It's more of an 18 to 30s holiday which was good for us!!!!

I would definitely go back to Tenerife and if I do I would definitely stay at Las Piramides again!

It was such a laugh.

Just got back from one of the best holidays have had ever!!! Right down from the hotel to the nights out, the people, everything was spot on.

Hotel was a two star which can only be because there is no air conditioning in the rooms but you can hire a fan from reception for only seven euros for the week. The rooms were specious, well cleaned, linen changed everyday, towels changed.

Great snack bar, pool absolutely huge, very clean. Staff really friendly. Met the best people

Eat Out - we ate everywhere within close proximity of hotel. Little Italy was nice and cheap and if you walk towards the bars, Wigan Piers is Tenerife's own Wetherspoons with Miller, Fosters, Carling, great food. Food is never the same as back home so places like Chineses are nice but a bit of a different vibe from here.

Nightlife - what can I say? Stay away from Veronicas Strip. O'Neils is ok but head across the road and stay near places like Rags, Lineker, places like that. Then Tramps is wicked. DJ's class and open till 6 am. Wow

Best thing to do is go to supermarket either one in hotel or nearby and get drink there dead cheap. Stay in till 10-11 then head out. Its not cheap drinking in bars so best get drunk before you head out.

The high score is for the hotel which did its job a treat. However, stay away from the restaurant because it's nasty food in there! We ate there once, left everything and had to go somewhere else. We aren't fussy eaters either so it's not that. They served us French onion soup for a starter which was just gravy powder with undercooked onions in it, pesto chicken pasta which was made with dried basil and some un-worldly creation which they labelled sweet and sour pork.

Sorry to go on but better to know before you go. I agree with everyone else that the rooms were kept spotless and there were always fresh towels. My room had three in and was very comfortable. I think our room is on the Piramide's website, the one in the corner near the pool. It didn't need air-con there because it was always in the shade and kept cool all day which is great when you want a kip. We even, though not all the time, left money and phones in the room and they never got touched, but then again, I suppose we did look like we'd have eaten their kids if they even sniffed our shoes, which would have been another grave mistake! Joking aside, fantastic place!

We have gone to these apartments for the last five years, at the same time in January. We always get the same studio because we ask for it. We have already booked for 2007.

For what you pay, it is great. Would not stay anywhere else. The studios are large and very clean. If you want clean towels every day, you get then. The staff are really friendly and the cleaners do a great job of your room.

It is in a good position and I would recommend the 'Tango' restaurant close by and the 'La Boca'. The 'Merlins' Chinese restaurant is good value - about six euros for a buffet - eat as much as you want. It is across the road from 'Brewers Droop'. Also I would recommend the surfers restaurant down by the sea front by Los Cristianos. All in all, a brill holiday in January time and the weather is great.

I stayed at Las Piramides in July 2004 and it was one of the best holidays I've had. However, I would not recommend it to families as it is more for the young.

The rooms have nice big balconies. We were lucky as we had two. The pool is absolutely huge and for it being a young person's hotel, it is kept remarkably clean!

It is a short walk to the beach and has a small shop on the bottom floor which sells all sorts.

I was going to visit again this year but I am buying a house so am leaving it until next year. However, my friend is going agin this year and requesting the same room! Gutted! Las Piramides is a really good hotel!

We have stayed here the last four years and find it a superb location. Last year we were surprised to find the in house entertaintment had improved and happy hour was very generous.

We are due to go in four weeks time and Im sure will enjoy it as much as we have in the past. Brilliant hotel.

The apartments where quite nice, apart from the odd effect and the fact that when me and my friends would be out and we'd come back and find that euros had been taken from our safe... and the only people who could get in our apartments where the cleaners and management. A lot of the time, the cleaners would come in our room when we where asleep as I would wake up to find them mooching... We never got chance to rest in a morning because of this.

Well, it was OK but the entertainment wasn't to be desired for but we all enjoyed the holiday, not the apartments. They were OK though.
