"Altamar Apartments Are Excellent"
Travel date:
January 2007
We booked privately with a Scottish couple who own two apartments on the complex. Both were newly refurbished and very clean, no cockroaches. The houses overlook the pool and sometimes it felt like our private pool as most of the houses are privately owned so the people are out working all day. There are no tour companies on the complex any more.
It was very quiet but in a perfect location. As soon as you left the complex there were plenty of bars, restaurants and beaches. I would highly recommend it.

"Altamar Apartments Were Nice"
Travel date:
September 2001
When we went to the Altamar Apartments, they were very nice. On our holiday there were three adults and one child. We thought that the apartments were situated in a perfect spot for nightlife and resturants.
Our favourite restaurant was the 'White Rose' a hundred yards down the street and our favourite bar was 'Scotties' bar it was very friendly and cheap.
We could not fault the apartments we stayed in. There were a lot of cats but we soon made friends with them and have never seen a cockroach yet.
But some people we made friends with had a terrible time there. They were staying on the front of the complex right above the bay where the bins were kept. On their second nights stay in the apartments, they killed thirty seven cockroaches in one room. They could not believe how lucky we were and how unlucky they were. They even took photographs of them for proof. A week later they finally got moved to a different complex called Laguna Park. When we visited them they said they feel like they are in heaven compared to the Altamar.
