Hotel Centerhotel Thingholt

Located next to Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur, the four star Centerhotel Thingholt offers a convenient location for exploring the historic centre. Shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, night life and all the main city centre attractions can be found within easy walking distance. CenterHotel Thingholt is designed by an Icelandic female architect, Gulla Jonsdottir. The floors are made of leather tiles and the lobby walls are decorated with salmon-leather tiles. When entering the hotel, there's a long black lava textured wall, covered in dark glass masks representing the hidden people of Iceland and a small waterfall trickling down over them.

CenterHotel Thingholt offers 50 air-conditioned guest rooms, all of which are decorated in a contemporary style inspired by Icelandic nature. There is a choice of four different room types: standard rooms, deluxe rooms, junior suites and loft suites. The deluxe rooms offer a choice of either a white leather sofa or a bathtub, which in some rooms are located next to the bed in the main bedroom. The junior suites offer both a sofa and a bath tub and the loft suites, which are the most spacious, consist of two floors where the bedroom and living room are separated by a set of stairs. All rooms are equipped with free high-speed internet connection, bathroom, central heating, hair dryer, direct dial telephone, coffee and tea making facilities, mini-bar, satellite television and writing desk.

Facilities at this hotel include 24 hour front desk, lift, breakfast buffet, bar, room service (limited hours), fax and photocopying service, iron and ironing board available on request and laundry and dry cleaning service. Adjacent to the Thingholt is the 'Domo' restaurant which serves an Asian/French menu.
