Really enjoyed stay at the Bouganvilla. Hotel in very good condition and kept very clean. Pool was huge but was still a little cold when we were there.
Expensive to eat and drink in complex, however, plenty of cheap places to eat not far from apartments. Beach was lovely and only a 15 minute stroll.
Best place to eat drink is 'The Mariners', five minutes from the hotel.

I had a good time at Bouganvilla. There were loads of activities to do during the day, the food was alright and the 'La Tasca' restuarant had really nice food. Sometimes we did have to queue for drinks but this was later at night after the show had just finished.
My only problem was during my stay the snacks were moved to inside the buffet restaurant and we weren't allowed to take food out which was a bit annoying but overall I had a good time.

The Bouganvilla Apartments are just as explained in the HotelStreet comments. The one bedroom apartment we stayed in was adequate for a self-catering holiday. We stayed for 11 days and the room was kept clean and towels renewed throughout the duration of our stay (very satisfactory).
There is entertainment every night (until 12 midnight) in the 'Big Top' arena or you can just relax in the bar. The complex has two supermarket/grocery shops which are quite competitive with the every day food/drink items.
The main pool has plenty of sunbeds available and no-one seems to reserve them early in a morning (thank goodness).
The 'La Tasca' restaurant prepares take-aways as well as a first class menu and the prices are acceptable with dining out. So all in all OK.
The resort of Sa Coma is small, but there is plenty to do in the resort or you can get buses to Cala Millor or Porto Cristo for 3.20 euros return.

Just got back from the Bouganvilla yesterday. 13 of us ranging from three to 42 years of age. Arrived late due to delay at the - approximately at 12.30am, all quite hungry. After booking in, we asked where we could eat. Nowhere on site but were told about 'Paco's', a ten minute walk out of the doors, turn right and then after a short distance the road bends left down hill - follow this for ten minutes, turn right and there it is, very basic but welcomed by Paco.
Entertainment I can only describe as very, very good. All accommodation very clean due to cleaning staff doing an excellent, good job. No air con but fans can be hired from reception or as we did, from the supermarket five minutes walk on from 'Paco's'. All enjoyed it. Thank you entertainment staff.

"Brill Holiday"
Travel date:
July 2008
Just back from a week in the Bouganvilla. Seven of us went aged from 15 to 41. It was very orientated towards young children, but we still had a fab time.
Rooms were clean. We were there for a week and they were cleaned five times and clean towels left. The whole place was very clean and pools cleaned regularly.
We went all inclusive and we enjoyed the food with plenty of variety. We ate as much as we liked and were stuffed. Also there was a snack bar open from 10 a.m. until 11.30 p.m. with things like burgers, chips, ice cream and cakes etc. so you will never go hungry.
The entertainment was fab and in one week we saw tributes to the 'Bee Gees', 'Jackson 5', 'Rock Mania', 'Drifters'. Also there is bingo at nine every night in the big top and party dancing with the entertainment staff for the kids! All the alcohol you want but you have to pay if you want the better brands otherwise it's a cheaper one but fine!
The pools are great. There are five in total and the main one is huge. There is a tractor train that runs all day up to 6 p.m. that takes you to the beach/town but it's about a ten minute walk if you want. The beach is beautiful. We did banana boats and paragliding.
One warning. We went to town drinking one evening to a popular pub called the 'King's Head'. Several times the bar staff gave us change from ten euros instead of the twenty we handed them, but we got our correct change in the end. Just be aware!

I have just got back from Sa Coma and I loved it. I went all inclusive and the food was fresh with a great selection. The pool and rooms were very clean but best of all, there was no noise or drunk teenagers at night. I have booked to go back again to the Bouganvilla with the kids in September 2008. Highly recommended. A++++.

Me, my wife and three year old son have just returned from two weeks at the Bouganvilla and overall had a very nice time. We stayed on a half board basis and had no real complaints. The food was very nice, although there was very little choice for children.
We stayed in a studio which was very nice and looked as if it had been recently refurbished. It also had air conditioning which was very welcome, as the people we talked to staying in apartments had none and said it was very hot at night.
As far as the pool is concerned, I have only one slight complaint in the fact that at other hotels I have stayed at, they have jet washed the pool side areas most mornings but they did not do this and you could tell. Getting a sun bed was not as difficult as I had read on some sites, as long as you get your towel out before 8 o'clock.

Our initial impression of the Bouganvilla was not too bad but as the week went on, it only became worse. The rooms were too small and stuffy, even out of season, the balcony was far too small to sit out on and you looked directly into the apartment opposite.
The reps were extremely unhelpful, even when I became ill during my stay and needed to see a doctor they were extremely unhelpful. The kids' entertainment was quite good but the whole place was no different to Butlins, just hotter!
They didn't have enough staff on and there was a 20 minute wait at the bar for a drink. You were only allowed two drinks at a time so if there are more than two of you, you might get them within the hour.
The food was passable but many others were complaining at the lack of information about the food and there wasn't enough choice for the children.
On the whole I wouldn't touch it again with a barge pole!

Me and my family went to the Bouganvilla apartments late in May and we arrived home three days ago. I had an amazing time. The entertainment was great, even though I did think it was aimed at younger kids. I played football and did water polo - it was good. It was also handy with access to the large sandpit, which had football goals and a volleyball net. The large pool (like a lake) was a bit salty and not that nice, but I spent most of my time in the sandpit with my friends.
The food was good although they are very short staffed, especially in the kitchen of the small restaurant near the big top (tent) where there were two chefs at the best of times. Overall I had a satisfactory holiday and I would like to return there.

My holiday at the Bouganvilla was fantastic! I could not and would not fault anything, it was pure brilliance. The train that ran from the resort into town was very helpful, the pool was great, big and different depths to suit all ages. The weather was so sunny, I loved it. Each day was lovely and warm.
There were lots of fabulous activities for all different ages. I'm 15 and took part in the 'Escape Group', the two reps were so nice and extremely friendly and welcoming. Laura and Becky always made sure everyone was included. I was quite shy but they made me feel right at home. For me the entertainment was the hi-light of my holiday. Every single entertainer was really welcoming. They made the holiday for me. I loved every night at the Big Top. The fun began at 8 o clock, starting with a brilliant mini disco, prize presentation, 'Lucky 13',bingo, adult fun time and then show time! The nights that the entertainers performed on stage for shows such as commercial breaks were my all time favourites. They were absolutely fantastic. They'd, afterwards, sit together for pictures and then finish off the night with party dances! I loved joining in with the entertainers and though I was very shy, they all made sure I was looked after and having fun which I always was.
I really hope we go again next year. I didn't want to leave at all but I'm staying in touch with all the entertainers through their website and I hope they will all be back again - Kris, Mark, Ben, John, Alfie, Camilla, Lisa, Helen and Rachel. I can't wait to catch up with you all and I really hope to see you again very soon!

I took my entire family to the Bouganvilla. The youngest was aged 11, the eldest 85 and it was fantastic. Overall there were ten of us. We went half board and the food was to die for. The restaurant was help yourself buffet style serving hot and cold food both at breakfast and lunch. It was quite large and there were no problems getting a seat, though it was full every time. You could go back over and over.
The free bus took you into town two, three and four times a day and brought you back. This took around 15 minutes each way, but it dropped you off right on the sea front and another bus which went to s'Illot would be pulling up. Great if you wanted a day out and very cheap fares. The zoo was right by the apartments, quite within walking distance, but again, another free bus took you there so great for the elderly. Very quiet at night traffic wise - no motor bikes like in noisy Benidorm. The only sound was of that of entertainment going on in the huge tent on site.
They have plenty for kids ie: kids' club and pool games. The pool was immaculate and massive. There were two shops on site which had everything you needed and a BBQ bistro as well as the restaurant. We sampled both and enjoyed both. A small arcade for the younger ones and pool tables by the pool kept the kids happy whilst us adults had a drink in the lovely bar by the pool. Apartments really clean and roomy. overall we've visited over and over again and its one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed. Well done, Bouganvilla.

As a travel agent and one of the entertainers at the Bouganvilla,I might be slightly biased but it was great value for money and in the height of season was jam packed with down to earth people and full of people that knew what to expect and didn't have any illusions of it being a four star property in Jamaica? I suggest that people do their homework and remember that if they book a last minute deal, they are not going to get an amazing ocean view room, with 24 hour child care. Overall we and all the other customers enjoyed a fun filled holiday in Spain with a great family atmosphere and great entertainment!

I've just returned from my second stay for two years running at the Bouganvilla and once again, I haven't got any complaints. The only slightly bad thing I have to say is it can get a bit noisy on a night when the entertainment is on and when it comes to kicking out time, which can be expected.
I went with my dad and my sister and we all really enjoyed it. I stayed in a room with my sister and I didn't find it that hot, even though we had good weather the whole week we were there. The entertainment is really good. They put a lot of effort in to it and get everyone involved. We walked down to the beach every day and it only takes about 15 minutes.
We especially enjoyed going to the ‘Royal Oak' for the food -you get loads, ‘Christies' for pool and the quiz and ‘Delaneys' for the entertainment and the fajitas! I'd definitely return again and hope to next year.

On arriving at Bouganvilla, I was not impressed. It looked like Butlins. When we got up the next day, it looked like a scene from Blackpool. I have the same opinions as the others about the accommodation and the maid service, BUT after the third day I really began to settle into the holiday.
The reps were not very helpful but the entertainers were fantastic. Credit to Zara and Mark – brilliant. Felt a bit like I had gone back in time as all the music was 60s and 70's. If you are looking for a holiday just like Butlins, than look no further, This will suit you down to the ground. 604 rooms – once filled, 2,000 people will be staying in this complex.
We were half board and the food was really nice with a huge selection. You can happily eat yourself to death here and why, not typical Brits that we are, we just kept piling our plates up. Why not we paid for it, some of the people and their eating habits were just disgusting but that's not Bouganvilla's fault. Watch out for the seaweed too - yuk!
Overall I must say that I would never go back again and for a holiday that cost the best part of £3k for four people, it seemed a lot to pay out for.

On arrival at Bouganvilla, I was very disappointed to see it was set in the middle of a housing estate. First impressions of the hotel itself looked promising but that's where it ended. We were given an apartment on the first floor with a baby. The maids never came near us for the first five days .We had to phone and request clean towels. The maids are under pressure.
If you wanted a sun bed, you had to be up and running at 5.30 a.m. and sit on the bed until 7.30 a.m. Beds had been reserved and not used. One day there were 72 complaints before mine. That just says it all.
This complex need up grading. Compared to the hotels that catered for the German tourists, this place is a dump.
Our apartment was facing the entertainment (big top). My kids, aged six and one, couldn't get to sleep as the noise carried well on into the early hours with groups of teenagers hanging around drinking. My six year old renamed the place the Bogenvilla. Needless to say we will never go back. There is nothing in Sa coma, not a decent shop or bar.

If you hire them, they rip you off! Balcony was far too small to sit out and not private. No sun beds free for everyone. If you would like a sun bed, get up at 5.00 a.m! We couldn't get a sun bed so we went to the beach everyday.
The train was an excellent idea, because it would take you the beach! Best food in Sa Coma is the ‘White Lion'. Quality in the meals! They cater for children and have an excellent menu for them too!

When we first arrived, we were not happy at all. We had passed the nightlife, the beach and all the other attractions and it seemed half an hour way drive from everywhere. The hotel is surrounded by Spanish residences. We kicked off when we got there and reps asked us to stay one day and see if we liked it. I came with my daughter and her friend, both 15. We were put in a studio room for the three of us to share. With no air con or fans the heat got unbearable.
We stayed there the first night and the two girls made friends immediately and loved it. The beach was a 20 minute walk or a free bus journey. Taxis only cost four euros anyway and nightlife was great at the ‘Kings Head', although on our last night someone got stabbed there.
Not that great weather due to rain. But overall I would go back again and my daughter would definitely, although next year they will be too old.

Have stayed at the ‘Boogie' four times. Not for singles. Kids will love it. Entertainment every night although mostly from reps (not always good). Don't book a studio unless you want to die from the heat. Most one/two bedroom apartments are situated to take advantage off the nice breeze that comes over. No air con (be warned). Shops on site (prices average). Restaurants and takeaway foods on site are great.
Eat out at ‘Delaneys' (great shows) also ‘White Lion' and ‘Peking Duck'. Shoes are abundant in shops and cheap! Go to the ‘Caprabo' supermarket (has other shops inside). Market on in main street Wednesdays.
Beach is a good 20 minutes walk but the ‘Boogie' supplies a train every 30 minutes to it. All staff speak English and will be more helpful than the reps. Rooms cleaned every other day (brush and pan supplied).
Doctor's surgery on site - excellent if you have any problems. Check your policy before you go. Most policies require you to pay £75 up front, but direct Holidays do a policy which is cheap and there is no outlay.

Been to Bouganvilla twice and loved it there. Am hoping to go back again this year as not been able to go away for the last two years. When we first went, my little girl was 13 months old and she enjoyed swimming and dancing. The next year she was just over two and enjoyed dancing with the reps in the evening. There were five adults and one child when we first went and we found the rooms plenty big enough and the maids came around everyday.
My husband and brother enjoyed playing football everyday in the sand next to the 'Bog Top' and in the evening going to the 'Big Top' at night. Most evenings we walked to a restaurant called 'JJ's' which served great food and they were really good with the children.
We didn't use the bus very often as with the buggy and all the beach stuff, it was easier for us to have a nice walk down to the beach. Definitely recommend this hotel and really can't wait to go again with my husband, daughter, who will now be five and my son who will be nearly two as I know they will love it there.

The weather is lovely and the beach is nice - about ten minutes away and there's this train that comes outside to take you straight to the beach.
Bouganvilla does these night activities that are good fun. There's this zoo just across from Bouganvilla and it's a fun day out. People say the animals are treated badly but they aren't. They are just treated differently to animals in England and plus, seeing hardly any greens doesn't help either. I don't know what I'm on about. Any way, I enjoyed myself and I'll definitely go again.

Only just over a ten minute walk to the resort centre (a nice stroll in the sun). The hotel has its own train that runs until 6 pm and takes you right to the beach (didn't use it myself as I enjoyed the walk).
Loads to do on the complex, bar is open until 1 am, evening entertainment in 'The Big Top' on every night until 12 am. Worth a visit as some nights it can be a good crack, other nights can be pretty poor.

Just returned back from the Bouganvilla. Fourteen of us went in total from 26th July - 9th August. First with the good points: the weather was beautiful the whole 14 days, the apartments were not too bad - we all had one bedroom apartments with two single beds in bedroom and a sofa bed with a pull out bed underneath which was quite comfortable. The pools were lovely and so was the complex. The entertainment in the big top was quite good, the entertainers always tried their best and all credit to them.
Now the bad points. There is no air conditioning and it can get quite warm in your rooms but we brought a fan and that was good enough. The cleaners are not brilliant in your rooms, we never saw them for the first three days, then they came one day then missed a day and that's how it mainly went for the duration of the stay. When they did come. they only mainly changed your towels.
The complex is a far way from Sa Coma beach, about a 20 minute walk which doesn't sound much but in the heat it can be quite a bit much. There is a train that takes you right to the beach which is good if you manage to get on it, but it only costs four euros in a taxi so it's not to bad.
The complex itself was very nice but get up by 6am if you want a sun bed as by then they will be full of towels. You just could not get a bed. We used to go down the beach everyday because we were not one of the sad people that got up early to reserve our beds. We used to come back about 5pm after the beach for a swim when we could get a bed then.
The food was very nice on the complex as well. We went self catering but there the food is very good. The best place to eat is in Sa Coma called the 'King's Head - food is fantastic and the entertainment was good, Blues Brothers on one night which was good. Porky's cafe in Sa Coma is also very nice for breakfast and baguettes.
There was one night with a fight on the complex with some English family but apart from that all ok. The ages in our party were 69, 58, 39,39,32,31,30,27,25,24,7,4,3,1, and to be fair, the four youngest enjoyed it the most. It was a nice complex but just very overcrowded. Didn't like the sun beds scenario. Been to Majorca many times and never seen anything like it before. The daytime entertainment was not much good for the kiddies. Went to Palma Nova last year and would definitely go back there. Bouganvilla was an experience but one unfortunately we won't be going back in a hurry. First impressions of this place look fantastic, if you could move it into Sa Coma town. It would be very nice if the daytime activities were better and the sun beds scene was sorted out, the other little faults you can live with. All in all was not a brilliant holiday, just ok.

July 2005
First opinion of the Park was great, that was until we stepped inside of our room. Dirty floors, no fan, having to pay for safe in room. Everything was wooden; the tables, beds, window frames, doors, furniture. All the wood was rotten and smelled of dampness and sulphur dioxide (rotten eggs). The tables were black with dirt. The bathroom had hairs everywhere. Bed sheets were never cleaned in the two weeks we stayed, towels only changed five days out of seven. Beds were never made, floors were never cleaned, bathroom was never cleaned. No equipment to clean it your self.
Rust up side of fridge. Hinges on cupboard doors rusted and mouldy. Toaster, cooker, microwave, fridge - don't think they have ever been cleaned! We had to buy products to clean them ourselves! Maids who walk into your room uninvited to change towels. Belongings being put outside by the maid, before 12pm on day of departure. The cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms was disgraceful. I definitely would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone else.
The pool side bars are never open and look neglected; there is a minimum amount of sun beds, maybe enough for a quarter of the number of people who actually stay there.
Apart from this, the restaurant was lovely, food was nice and well prepared, and the staff were really friendly. Some of the shows at the big top were good, but the rest of the entertainment very poor. Daytime activities; for the kids - not bad; for fathers - ok; for anyone else who is over 16 years and is not a father then I suppose sleeping by the poolside is an option!

"Fantastic"

After reading a few comments last year before my visit to the Bouganvilla, I was terrified that I had made a big mistake. But, I can honestly say that we had a fantastic time. Having a seven month old baby, a five and seven year old daughter, it was an ideal family holiday.
The room was clean and bedding was changed every other day with maid service at least three times a week. The Airtour reps worked very hard with the children and they kept them entertained from am to pm.
We had such a good time last year, we have booked to go back June this year (the children can't wait).

"Fantastic"

This was one of the best holidays. Having a three year old son, this was a ideal family holiday. The complex was clean, well looked after. The maids were always cleaning somewhere. The staff were spot, especially our Airtour reps, very friendly and helpful. The reps that worked with the children were great. The kids never have time to be bored, there's something going on all the time from pony riding to bungee jumping. The shows at the big top were great.
The only thing I would change is the buggy train to run a little later, and the rooms to be air conditioned. Also the supermarket on site was quite expensive. Overall though excellent. We've booked to go back next June.

I stayed at the Bougavilla Hotel with my parents. It was amazing and the hotel was very nice and the staff are very friendly and I would love to go there again. We had no problems while we were there.

"Bouganvilla - Very Disappointed"

Very disappointed on this holiday. No fans in rooms, had to buy one. Entertainment was terrible, mostly down to Airtours reps who couldn't even organise trips right.
Only good thing was the hotel staff who were very pleasant and hard working all the time.

"The Best, Said The Kids, Except"

To all the staff at Bouganvilla Hotel,
My family and myself had a fantastic time at your complex and I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get in touch but we spent so much in Majorca that it's taken this long to recover the cash to afford a PC. Anyway, there are a few points that I would like to mention that in the long run would make your complex one of the best, if not the best, for the British or any family planning on a holiday at your resort.
My family and friends who came with us would almost certainly book a fortnight at Bouganvilla if your apartments had air conditioning. Trying to sleep at night after a day running around after four young kids was out of the question. Air conditioning needs to be installed.
My second point, sun bed wars! I have never seen anything like this in my life. The British holidaymakers are alway's on about how bad the Germans are at this holiday sport. Oh how wrong they are. I decided to sit up late and see what actually went on from a British holidaymakers view. 12.00 a.m The Big Tent starts emptying out as people start making thier way back to the apartments. 01.00 a.m towels start getting put on sunbeds. 02.00 a.m youths start turning up from the nightclubs and start throwing towels in pool. Then unknown to the holidaymakers that come out at 03.00 a.m and place thier towels on the already so called booked sunbeds - an argument starts. How easy it happens and that was only one situation I witnessed. Four more in the following evenings and all different.
I also spotted a flaw in your room security with your swipe card system and although it seems your customers feel quite safe when leaving thier apartments, I know that entry to them can be easily achieved without a specialist tool. I will be more than happy to let you know how, as it is not very difficult and it will protect any future holidaymakers from losing property and hopefully making your complex the best.

"Very Good Site"

As we arrived at the hotel, our first impressions were: friendly staff, reps were excellent, apartment was small and had no air-conditioning, it was cleanish with maid service and restaurants were very good. My daughter especially enjoyed the pizza.
The entertainment was brilliant and we made friends easily. The boogie bus was extremely good; it got us where we wanted to go very promptly. We really enjoyed the swimming pools; they were amazing and kept very clean throughout the holiday. I have no hesitations as to considering going back, I'm sure we will again soon, I definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks.

"Great Times"

I am off again this year to Bouganvilla - this will be my eighth visit. I think its great. The kids have grown up there. There is plenty for them to do. The entertainment is fantastic. The reps are great too. We are a family that joins in with all the fun. I have been on that stage more times than I have had hot dinners. My daughters have all grown up now. My youngest is 16 and she still wants to go to the Bouganvilla so you see it caters for all ages.
Last year I had a royal room. It was great. I only hope I get one this year. I can't wait for the seventh of July.
Wendy on reception has been there as long as I have been going. She is very nice lady.
Its only a small town but there are plenty of things going on. The Kings Head just down the road is also a great night out. Hope Pauls still there doing karaoke. You will just have to go yourself to find out what a great place it is.
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
