"Isla Bonita Hotel - What A Waste Of Money"

Well, where do we start? We arrived at 6 p.m. to find we had to find our own hotel room with no help from any staff. We then got to our room to find no air conditioning, the patio door was broken, wide open and would not shut, the shower was not fixed on to the wall properly so the room got wet through and then the electricity stopped working. We contacted reception who said it would all be sorted out when we got back from tea. We came in to find a hole in the roof with plaster all over the floor, the patio door still broken and no electrics. It took until 10.30 p.m. to get the electric and air con working, then he slammed the patio door shut so it would not open for the rest of the week. The sofa bed in the room was broken so we ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor. The hair dryer also didn't work.
The staff in the hotel spoke very little English. We got told it was a two minute walk to the beach which turned out to be a mile hike and all up hill back to the hotel.
Our room looked on to a car park which at 3 a,m. until 4 a.m. a dustbin wagon was emptying bins. Goodness knows how many tom cats we saw spraying up against hotel room doors.
We got told it was a four star hotel. When we got there, our holiday rep told us it was only a three star. We asked to be moved but it was going to cost an extra 500 euros which we couldn't afford, to move to Las Dalias. Everywhere else was fully booked and there was another family that wanted to be moved. Overall a bad experience and would not recommend the Isla Bonita. The one and only thing that was any good was the food.

"OK For First Time Stay"

Outside first impressions were it needs painting. Inside, the reception area was clean and bright. Our room was on ground level inside the hotel but from the outside, it was on the first floor. We had a balcony facing the busy road. If you are used to a bit traffic, this is not a problem.
Room was basic but very clean with clean towels every day. Small kitchen with cooker and fridge but no crockery, cutlery or kettle.
All-inclusive food/drink was very good. Always something to choose from to your liking.
Staff were very polite and friendly from cleaners, waiters to reception.
Only downfall was the entertainment. This was pathetic. We went for three weeks over the Christmas/New Year period. Were expecting gala evenings and parties. Wrong! Nothing on Christmas Eve, boring on Christmas Night and absolutely dreadful on New Year's Eve. Band played through the countdown and the entertainment team were late with that. Festivities didn't start until 23.50. Absolute rubbish. Because of this I will not use the Isla Bonita hotel again.
The resort was excellent. Walking distance of Playa de Las Americas and plenty of shops. Beaches were clean and excellent. Trips to do: Loro Parque and Jungle Park. These were expensive but a great day out. Although we didn't go to Siam Park Water Kingdom, have heard excellent reviews from fellow guests.

When I came to the Isla Bonita it was like a dream come true. The food was amazing and I went all inclusive. Isla Bonita is a family hotel for kids and adults. I met these two people that worked there, called Julia and Mike. They work in the animation part and they're great! I'm definitely going back to Isla Bonita in two weeks time. I can't wait for it.

When we came to the Isla Bonita, there were 17 of us. It was a family holiday and all staff made us feel more than welcome.
The food was good, the drink was great, the rooms were very nice and the clean pool was good for the children. The entertainment for all was great.
We got talking to three of the animation team - their names were Ruby, Yass and Julia. Bring back the old team! We came back in January 2009 and it was not the same without Yass and the rest. We are all coming back in January 2010 and hope that Ruby, Yass and Julia are back.

"Dont Believe It!"

We read a couple of bad reviews of this hotel before we left so it was with some trepidation when we disembarked from the transfer bus. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. It was fantastic.
We had a small problem with our room in as much as it smelled slightly of smoke (some chain smokers the week before I think) but they moved us to another room with apologies and smiles.
The food was of a very high standard. Having stayed at several 'all inclusive' resorts I would rate this as the best for selection and quality. The staff were polite and very hard working. The rooms were nice with a separate TV lounge, balcony and even a small kitchen area, and were cleaned spotlessly every day by polite staff.
The main bar upstairs got busy at mealtimes due to the nice fresh coffee they made there, but we never waited any more than five minutes for a drink and there is a bar area downstairs where the queues were less. We did see some impatience by the usual 'I'm going to drink the bar dry because it's free' brigade but most people were really happy with it.
The Isla Bonita hotel has had a life and will need some refurbishment in the future, but everything seemed to work and everything was clean. The pools were nice and there are two rooftop terraces with plunge pools - one of them is nudist so don't take the wrong door!

"Isla Bonita Hotel "

Upon first impression the hotel was very good. We arrived late and found salads, a variety of fruit and water in our room. The buffet restaurant was always clean and the staff welcoming, especially toward the children.
Unfortunately, expect a lengthy wait at the 'Bar Plaza' during the evening time followed by a very rude bar tender. The evening 'entertainment' is somewhat inappropriate for children, ie knife throwing and walking on broken glass! Be early to book a table for the Italian and BBQ as there are limited places. If you are lucky enough to get a table, don't expect any high chairs or any help with getting one.
The pool was always clean with plenty of sun loungers. Overall a good holiday, although customer relations could do with a little help!

"Absolutely Great! "

I have been to this hotel twice and both times I feel have been absolutely brilliant! Me and my family haven't found a problem with it. We came back again because we thought it was so great the first time round and we are even considering coming for a third time.
The food is lush as it is a buffet which suits all cultures and is different. The staff are lovely and very friendly and you are welcomed as soon as you arrive. Of course, the 'Bar Plaza' is busy in the evening because it is a busy place and you have to patient! We found the entertainment suitable for children and there is a children's disco every night!
Overall I think Hotel Isla Bonita is great and I really recommend it!
