The Mon Port hotel deserves its four star rating. The bedrooms are particularly good with well appointed bathrooms and all air conditioned with satellite TV in a variety of languages, but be warned, TV reception of English channels can suffer interference at night. The hotel guests are a mixture of German, English some Spanish and Dutch.

The swimming pool and surrounding gardens make a particularly delightful setting. The meals are good (although I have never had dinner in the hotel as always go down to the port at night), the breakfast is good and the lunch menu is adequate although not that extensive. The service can sometimes be slow both at lunch and in the bar in the evening.

We have been to the hotel twice. Once some five years ago and returned in 2007. I would suggest that the immediate area and the hotel is probably more suited to a relaxing seven day break rather than longer, even a long weekend I would recommend. One advantage of the hotel and Port Andratx itself is that it is only 45 minutes from Palma airport.

There is not a beach at Andratx. If that is what you like then a car or taxi ride away is Camp de Mar. You don't need a car when staying at the hotel provided you don't mind an approximate 20 minute walk into town.

For children there is not a great deal to do at the hotel or the Port, confined pretty much to the hotel swimming pool which is probably one of the best features. Next door to Mon Port is 'La Pergola' which is owned by the same people and are self catering flats but also with restaurant. In general 'La Pergola' is used by families with younger children (i.e. below 12).

Port Andratx itself has a number of good waterside restaurants and bars and is ideal for people watching.
In summary good value for money, handy for the airport, pleasant setting geared to a relaxing time by the pool rather than anything else. Many of our friends have also been to the hotel a number of times and a few own properties in Port Andratx.
