The Alcudia Pins hotel is the best hotel I've been to in my whole life. Everything is nice. The employees are very nice and there is a very good breakfast. It's a nice hotel.

Review title: "Alcudia Pins Is Brilliant"
Travel date: July 2008
This is the second time my mum and I (70s and 40s) have stayed at the Alcudia Pins. We had a last minute week in October 2007 and thought it was brilliant. When we saw it was available again this July, we jumped at it.

It is located right on the beautiful sandy beach of Playa de Muro between Alcudia and Ca'n Picafort. You walk through the pool area, across the terrace, through the glass wind break and you are on it. No busy roads to cross. When you come off the beach there are two foot showers to take the sand off. The staff are very friendly and make a big effort to help you enjoy your holiday. The animation team speaks many languages and run a comprehensive programme for all ages, including big weans like us. The amenities are excellent with tennis courts and shops on site. Evening entertainment usually includes tribute bands like 'Rod Stewart', 'Take That' and 'Elvis' and you are encouraged to pretend and sing along. A team of waiters keep you lubricated with cocktails or you can go to the terrace bar yourself.

The apartments are big and airy with air con. In October, our apartment wasn't very clean or well equipped and had that end of season feel. We spoke to our rep but nothing happened so we spoke to staff at reception and right away we had a replacement fridge, new utensils and the place was cleaned. This time we had a nice new kettle and toaster too.

We went self catering and usually made our own breakfast and ate out at night. There are several eating areas on site and a few restaurants within a short walk outside.

On the down side the towels were changed but they forgot to replace the bath mat. Also the floors were not cleaned and the sheets were not changed for the week. We could have chased this up, I'm sure, but we didn't bother this time.

The location is actually closer to Ca'n Picafort (two kilometres) and you can walk along the beach or get a bus from outside the apartments. If you want to go clubbing into Alcudia centre, then this is not the best location for you.

The sun loungers and parasols around the pool are taken very early and although you are not supposed to reserve them, there were lots with a towel and no body. On the beach there are loungers and parasols you can book in advance for a minimum of three days. If you just wanted one day you have to be down early, 8.50 euros for two beds and one parasol. We bought a parasol 6.50 euros in the supermarket and just beached it most days.

Overall it is ideal for families and good for grown ups too.
Very popular with Brits and Dutch. Many of the people we spoke to had been going there for years so that says something. We would definitely go back again.

Review title: "Great For Families"
Travel date: July 2007
Best family holiday we have ever had! Plenty for our ten year old son to do. Pool was fantastic, beach was fantastic.
Although Alcudia Pins hotel was fully booked, you could find space. I was expecting to queue but never had to. Staff friendly.

Air conditioned bus service to Ca'n Picafort, Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa every 20 minutes from outside the complex.

Only fault was food. We went half board. There was plenty of choice (cereals, fruit, breads, cheeses and hams etc) but everything just seemed to taste the same. Would go again but would go self catering as there is a well stocked supermarket and plenty of bars/restaurants in Playa de Muro!

Review title: "OK"
Travel date: August 2006
In my family, the ages are adult, adult, 14, 14 and 11. From the two weeks stay we had a great time. This hotel is fantastic but the entertainment is done in German as well and that was annoying and there were a lot of Germans. There are also Dutch, Swedish and many more. The hotel looked fantastic.

Reception: When you walk into the reception underneath you there are fish. Reception is open all the time. If you ask for a phone call to wake you up they will. Very friendly.

Pool: The pool features look beautiful. Pool can get full. Pool opens at 9:00 a.m. Very easy to get a sun bed at nine. Pool is very cold, in fact freezing cold but on a hot day it does cool you down. You can buy water guns for five euros. You may get squirted in the face. Life guards are not usually around the pool, they are sometimes. The slide is great fun but you get a long line. In the pool, you can have inflatables or balls. The pool is big and fun but not very deep. 11 year olds can touch the bottom of the pool.

Accommodation: The self catering stuff was in the room but beds were made but not changed and I had to ask to get clean towels. It had a TV.

Bars in the hotel: There is a place called the ‘Pins Burger' and the burgers there are gorgeous. There is a pizza place and the pizzas there are nice. There is a little thing where it has sofas and chairs and tables and a large flat screen TV, a bar and toilets where some of the entertainment is done. There are some other bars.

Games room: The games room is big with air hockey, pool and video games and you can win stuff on other games. The roof has holes in it and it has a toilet. Outside the games room there is the burger bar and a children's play area and at night there is a bouncy castle.

Entertainment: I thought it was rubbish and I thought it would have been better if it was done by Airtours.

The rooms were great. The pool was lovely although busy. Beach was on your door. Entertainment was great. The food around the complex wasn't great. The smell was gross. There was a life gaurd which was good. I wounld go back again but would be careful after what I saw on the holiday showdown!!!! The location wasn't great but taxis are cheap!

Review title: "Best Holiday Ever!!!"
Travel date: July 2001
Hello!!! We had already been here two years previously and fell in love with it, but this time was the best time. We thought that the old resident entertainers, Phil and John would be there and were upset that they weren't but we soon got over that as we realised that the new entertainers that year were also fantastic.

The food was fantastic especially the lamb shoulder that we enjoyed many of nights! There were loads of GORGEOUS and helpful waiters especially Lorenzo David, Raphael, Antonio Herdia, Juan Tugores and Tofol.

The pool was always clean, no matter what the television critics have said. The beach was beautiful and right on the front door step! The whole resort was clean and maid service was great.

The only thing that I felt could do with a change was the attitude of some of the women at reception as only a few would go out of their way to try and help. We are DEFINATELY coming back to see our friends and for another 'out of this world holiday experience'. See you all next year. Thanks!!
