"Corona Roja"

The Corona Roja hotel was close to the beach and bars which was good but there was a down side. The hotel was crawling with ants on our balcony and cockroaches. Maids half cleaned your room most days. Watch out for the maids putting torn towels in your room. You will have to pay 15 euros for one towel.

"Gran Canaria Was Fun. Hotel Was OK"

We booked with 18-30's - seven girls. Apartments were nice and clean. Also, one of our bags got lost and the reps were very helpful.
The big issue we had, as did many other people we spoke to, was that we were constantly being told to be quiet even when we weren't noisy. So if you're looking for a fun 18-30s holiday partying, you won't get it at this hotel. Once it got to around 10 p.m. you weren't allowed music on in your room.
However, the night life was really good and the excursions were good. Make sure you go to 'Flash Backs' - a bar by the hotel. It's really nice and the staff are lovely. All in all, it was a good holiday but I wouldn't stay in the Corona Roja hotel again as we like a hotel which is more fun. There is no entertainment in the day.

I'd never been on an 18-30's before and wasn't too sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The reps were great - very informative, friendly and not pushy at all!
The Corona Roja hotel was in an ideal location near to beach, night life and resturants. The hotel was lovely - spacious, staff helpful with cabs in and out of town and the bar and cafe come in handy when staying round pool. There's a shop on your doorstep that sells everything and is very handy for your daily trips for water etc. There is also a cash point outside the hotel just in case you run out of booze money!
It's about seven euros a drink but most are buy one and get one free. If you on 18-30, a lot of trips offer a free three hour bar (vodka or beer). I'd recommend the bar crawl, foam party and school disco. Boat trips a bit of a let down. Highly recommended!

Oh my goodness, Corona Roja is brilliant. It is located centrally so you are near everything, great restaurants, the beach and pubs and clubs. 14 of us went over and we were all crying coming home! It was without a doubt the best week of my life. I'd go back there this minute if I could!

"Brilliant Place To Stay"

A very good place to stay whilst on holiday. Good place for party goers. I love Corona Roja. The staff were very friendly and the food was good too, although try the Chinese buffets in Gran Canaria - they are great. I'll be back over again soon.

"Definitely worth the visit"

I stayed here last July with three of my friends. We were part of the Club 18-30 lot and I have to say it was the best holiday ever. I was quite concerned about the quality of accommodation that we had booked but I am glad we chose the Corona Roja. The apartment we have slept five people so there was plenty of space. It was clean when we arrived and the maid came in during the week and changed the sheets, swept the floors etc. The only problem we suffered was that only one plug in the whole apartment worked which was a bit of a nightmare with four girls trying to all dry hair and straighten in time to get out!
The pool is a good size and we never struggled to get sun beds. The hotel is close to the beach and most importantly the bars. It was really easy to find our way back at the end of the night as this hotel was the tallest in the resort and it had Corona Roja illuminated in big letters in the top. I am returning to Gran Canaria this year but on an allocation on arrival basis and would be more than happy if I was placed in this hotel again!

"The Roja Rocks!"

Oh my goodness! What a place! Stayed there the two of us in July/August 06. It was the best two weeks of my life. OK, the reception can get a bit miserable and moan but considering we consumed vast amounts of vodka and have no recollection of getting home that night, we probably deserved that telling off!
The rooms are ideal, food is great and good priced and the pool area is more than big enough for everyone to get friendly.
We were a bit concerned when we read bad reviews about it but in all fairness, the only ones that complained were the family type who booked in knowing full well that in the summer months it is a main base for 18-30's which it clearly states in the brochure. All I can say is, you can't expect it to be quiet!

"Corona Roja Is Good"

Stayed in Corona Roja at the end of August last year with a party of ten people, all aged from 18- 23. What can I say - it was absolutely brilliant. It is just located in the nice part of Playa del Ingles and wait for it, the Irish Centre is just around the corner from these apartments which just suited us very well.
The apartments that we stayed in were standard and kept well by the cleaners. The only thing is that I thought that we could have had more than one key per person, seeing as there was five of us staying in one room and we had to go to the reception all the time to leave or get the key.
These opinions are those of HotelStreet visitors and not of HotelStreet.
