"Quiet And Peaceful"
Travel date:
October 2008
Have just returned from one weeks stay at this hotel and I felt I must write a review and let people know that it is not as bad as some of the reviews on this hotel. I had a very enjoyable stay - comfortable and quiet and could not fault the staff, food or cleanliness of the rooms and hotel generally.
It is true that the entertainment was poor, especially for the children. All inclusive guests should not have to spend time in another hotel and have to pay for their drinks, so as far as families are concerned, I would not recommend it. However, for a quiet peaceful relaxing holiday the Hotel Costa Taurito is a very pleasant place to stay.

"Perfect For A Quiet Break."
Travel date:

My wife and I have just returned from a week here. We booked everything separately, not a package.
Hotel is in a quiet valley between two fingers of lava (300 feet high) stretching into the sea. Road winds around edge of mountain and creates a little noise, but not much. Taurito is about 35 minutes from airport in a 25-year-old Mercedes taxi (well worth £38 as coach transfers are only £8 less and take twice as long).
Did not hire car this time and used buses - every 15 minutes except Sundays when every 30 minutes. Very clean, helpful and cheap. (70p to the lovely village of Mogan - massive market on Fridays)
Hotel reception is 24 hour - very helpful, always a smile. Rooms clean and functional, but no tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms cleaned daily, bed sheets changed midweek. TV only had one English program - CNN news! No radio. Air con not turned on apparently until you start to melt - they have to conserve power!
Restaurant food and staff are five star. Brilliant choice of food, freshly cooked by the chef on request, in front of you! We stayed AI and never chance to grumble at any of our 20 meals!
Lounge and pool good, friendly waiters who soon had your free drinks on the bar before you got there! In-hotel shop good too.
Beach ten minutes walk away to nice sandy beach in a bay, nicely secluded; never saw 50 people on the busiest day. Plenty of shops and cafes dotted around.
Entertainment as you might expect for a smallish hotel - no complaints here - you cannot please all of the people all of the time!
Not much noise at night, but you should be aware that there were two massive hotels being built on the mountainside opposite, but as work had stopped due to the bribes scandal here, it was silent.
Not many children here and Brits not in the majority, but staff seemed more friendly to us than certain other nationalities!
